With 8 ranging from trash like Outlaws to barely bearable, 9 being alright to mildly enjoyable, and 10 being fun to masterpieces. Below 8 would be the boring, the broken, and the trillions of browser based games. The numerical system is for those games in the top bracket. Nobody plays Veilguard and thinks, "Well, it's better than ET for the Atari.", they think, "Wow. This is worse than every single Dragon Age game that came before it and just about every RPG I've ever played.".

What about games with a silent protagonist or an abstract, non descript protagonist? Like what about Tetris? You won’t any representation in Tetris. Does it only apply to games with customizable characters? If so, why? Why would you be able to immerse yourself in a game with no character customization, but not in a game with character customization if the customization isn’t particular enough to your real life identity? Making all the language in your game gender neutral doesn’t solve anything. Because then other trans people will complain that they can’t be referred to by the gender they identify as. No matter what, these people are never satisfied. Obeying one of their demands is like trying crack for the first time. It probably won’t be the last.

At this point, even if “Concerned Ape” believes in non binary pronouns, he should refuse to add them into the game out of principle. You should never obey an angry mob, apologize to them, or justify yourself to them. Unless you’re a politician and it’s the people who voted for you. But if you’re in media or entertainment or you just create internet content for a small audience, you should oppose the demands of a mob purely for the reason that it’s a mob making the demands. Even if you’re in the wrong and you know it, you should make amends on your own terms, not theirs. But in this case, if the dev put the pronouns in the game, he would be actively encouraging this kind of behaviour.
