Reviewing ALL 32 Authentic Coaches in NHL 25

Hope you guys enjoyed the video! I forgot to mention ONLY the 32 current NHL Head Coaches have been added to the game (no assistants or former coaches). Also the coaches are only in Franchise Mode, Season Mode, Online VS and Play Now. They weren't added to Be A Pro as they'd have to add in new cut scenes for each coach :(

I’m from the same town as the LA Kings head coach and he used to coach my local team long time ago and we had a amazing 2 season with him 32-20-6-2 in 2004-2005 and 43-13-3-2 in 2005-2006

I simmed one season and Torts retired, wish I could merge vasy(and yours) roster so I could have accurate draft classes. Plus they still have Carter Hart as an 85 overall goalie. So they really didn't pay any attention to anything.

Definitely agree that they were way too generous with these coaching ratings. As a blues fan, Bannister is definitely B or B- at best. And his line preferences are horrendous. I'll be trading him out immediately every time I start a new franchise.

I like the new feature where Florida’s gm can ask your coach (Paul Maurice) to go to Turkey for a hair transplant in the off season.

Just so you know I’ve started a couple franchises with the same team to see if the coaches preferences or stats change. It seems like their preferences are always the same but I have seen some slight variations with the ratings. Their overall seems to be consistent, but like in one their PP might be an A, in another it might be an A-. So just to say all these coaching grades might vary slightly for everyone else

So, the line preferences are always the same like Hold Line/Shoot on D? That's where my coach falls and I feel like you almost never find those type of players in a draft.

@ they’re a little bit more common this year (they literally didn’t exist last year) but yes correct. If a coach has hold line shoot, he always will when you start a new franchise

Also the fit does change as well cause I did it with Bednar and one he had like 52% and then had like 60% as well.

@ that isn’t the coach changing it’s your players. Players preferences have always been randomized when you start a new FM. So like Cale Makar might have been pinch/cycle in one and hold line/shoot in the next

Ducks fan here.. Our Coach needs to have his rating change I would do B offense, B+ defense, F Powerplay, C Penalty Kill, the last two A+ is fine

If you want to use the new custom roster update you have to merge the files. Then click on the new file created to lock it in.

The team fit for the coaches changes depending where in the line up you have players. For example I saw that Hedman had very low "chemistry" on Tampa Bay which lowers the team fit % for Cooper. If you place Hedman at another pairing (I suspect he´s on the 1st pairing) and he fit´s better there, Coopers team fit will increase. On the other hand, you don´t wanna play Hedman on the 3rd pairing getting 12 minutes/game. I wish you could change the style of play for each fw line or d pairing so they play according to how its fits the players. It will still be a challenge to find 3 fw or 2 d that fits well together to get + ratings and good coach chemistry.

Half-assed update that too many people are excited about. Only 32 new faces, 2/3rds of which you wouldn't know who it is without being told first, with minimal diversity in their stats. Now lets add all the assistant coaches as well, plus former head coaches that might make a comeback this year, for example, Jay Woodcroft. That way, if I want to replace a coach, which I probably wouldn't because they're all A teaching and coaching influence (which annoys me that it doesn't deteriorate over time), I have options.

I heard merging custom rosters with EA rosters work. Your CAP stays, but need to move for right teams. NHL player ratings reset, so they need to made again.
