I love Knights and armored bosses so Tower Knight and the Penetrator are my favorite bosses in Demon's Souls

Lol, that was one of my favorite segments to record because as much as I LOVE gushing about the great bosses in these games, I also enjoy ripping into the trash ones And the difference between that and Laurence’s commentary: with Laurence my anger was played up for entertainment, *The anger I showed here was genuine*

Found you from your Bloodborne video, I would not complain if the rest of the series gets this treatment. Great work! I guess one thing I would like to point out with DeS is that it most certainly is my least favorite boss roster in the series, but they're so much more gimmicky and it gets harder to compare to the rest of the series where they started emphasizing the combat more heavily. It did help DeS in making sure that each boss fight felt unique, and it's probably the best thing that I could say about it. I wish I played this one first, I may have a greater appreciation for it, but this was the last From Soft Souls game I played (thanks to the PS5 remake) and I really did not enjoy this one that much. The remake graphics are truly stunning, and the world is super interesting, but almost everything else about it was done better in a later game, especially the bosses. Dragon God is also my least favorite fight in the series. At least Bed of Chaos has checkpoints and the ground breaks away at all the same spots so you could even memorize it. Dragon God is so inconsistent. My BIGGEST issue with the remake is that it was way too faithful to the original in terms of gameplay. They had every opportunity to improve this fight and make it way more interesting than it is, but it stuck too close to the original for what? No one liked it how it was before. False King Allant is also my favorite boss. Even still, my favorite DeS boss wouldn't even crack my top 25 favorites across the series. The style of fight is what I like in bosses, but it's been done better by a ton of other bosses in subsequent games. Still, DeS is a good game overall, but it's clear that they had a lot to figure out. Every new game improved on the foundation built by this game, so while I may not enjoy it that much, I can't deny how important it is. It was weirdly satisfying playing through DeS my first time and really appreciating how much better From Soft got at making this style of game. I was suffering through DeS thinking "wow they came so far". It made me more appreciative in a weird way

Thank you, I’m super happy you liked the video! I agree about the remake being a bit of a disappointment, although I do appreciate the quality of life improvements. And I also experienced that feeling of “wow, fromsoftware has come really far” in certain areas too, but when it comes to the swamp of sorrow, it was kind of for the wrong reasons… I plan to do more critical analysis videos like this and the bloodborne one on the other souls games, I really love making these kinds of videos a lot

@@gussieawesome2763 I mean people who didn't play Demon's Souls first or at launch all have flawed perspectives of the series. Your sense of perception has been warped. Heck some of you even think and act like Dark Souls is where it started. Playing Demon's Souls at launch was an unmatched experience that would surely cause you to view the later games and bosses differently. It's a moment lost in time to you, like tears in rain.
