My opinion on Laurence has actually changed a good bit since I first made this video. I’ve mellowed out a lot towards him and although I don’t find him to be an S or A tier boss, he’s not really horrible or anything like that. As for the one reborn… it’s the opposite story. It’s by far the worst boss in bloodborne for me now and even with me now knowing how to reach the witches above the arena, the fight still isn’t enjoyable for me in the least. Thank you all so much for the support on the video! I might remake it in the future to update my opinions and change some things like the amount of detail I go into

i hope u see this but in the one reborn, go to the corners of the arena there is a room that allows u to go up the towers and kill the bell ladies, this will make the fight much easier/ more enjoyable

​@@gussieawesome2763Also, you might wanna use a beast blood pellet and a bolt paper to hit him in its "crotch" area, with a couple R1L1 combo you should break that part and the boss will be stunned for a bit, this is where you do the same thing but to one of its legs until that one is broken too, and you repeat this process to all its limbs until it's dead. you can basically stunlock the boss until you kill it, and the pellet will make this fight literally a breeze, it's shocking how easy it becomes with this strategy! (I did it today and the fight was over in less then a minute without me taking any damage, I didn't even need to kill the witches on top)

The Shadow technically just has a mace that just uses the model of the tonitrus it doesn't work the same way. The other shadow isn't using a chikage or any form of katana for that matter.

One note about the Witches of Hemwick: you don't need to wait for them. They're always right there, they're just invisible until you get close enough and teleport away after being attacked. You really don't have to interact with the mobs at all throughout the fight. Oh and both witches exist from the start, the second one just doesn't have a visible health bar until the first one dies.

Actually, you don't need to kill the 1st witch for the 2nd witch to appear You just have to reduce the 1st one's HP to half or quarter and the 2nd witch will appear but its health bar is still hidden (2nd witch's health bar only appears if you kill the 1st witch first) That way, you can kill the 2nd witch first then finish off the 1st witch I always do this in every run, leave the 1st witch HP to a little bit, find and kill the 2nd witch then finish off the 1st witch

He's one of my favourite characters and he gives me really strong Demon's Souls and Michael Rosen vibes so I can't help but love him. The fight itself might not be as intense as the rest of the roster but that's why he stands out and will always be memorable, you might forget about the Witches of Hemwick or Celestial Emissary, but Micolash will always be there!

She currently places #3 in my top five souls bosses, only beaten slightly by the demon princes and beaten a decent bit by slave knight Gael, who’s my #1 favorite video game boss

I just completed a playthrough today of BB and the dlc after years off of it. I remember loving all the Hunter bosses, but uhhh.... every boss that's parriable was so cake it actually took away from my enjoyment. I thought for sure Orphan would have stomped like he did on my first playthroughs where I died an upwards of 50 times, but I beat him 2nd try. Maria, who was called a stone wall by a reviewer I recently watched went down before she even got to phase 3 first try. Gherman went down second try, but I only had to try it twice because my weapon broke mid fight. Moon Presence killed me twice.

Great video but i never really understand the hate for Laurence the first vicar , all of his moves are completely Telegraphed and can be easily dodged with proper timing it took me awhile to learn the timing of these attacks but none of them are unfair all of the hit boxes are well-done and even in his first phase his moveset is actually completely different and varied than the cleric Beast so I don't really agree with that either his moveset is really not much like the cleric Beast there's a couple similar moves but even the timing and order that they happen in have been changed as well as new Combos and several new moves that the cleric Beast doesn't have. the presentation is some of the best in the entire game the OST is probably the best in the entire game and the second phase is actually really creative and Innovative we've never seen any other boss like that and even in the second phase all of his attacks can be easily avoided or Dodged , all of the hitboxes seem very fair to me didn't really have any complaints about it I've never really understood all the hate for Lawrence and I played this game probably about fifty times all the way through. It's all about perfect timing with laurence . Similar to slave knight gael if you Quickstep too early the fire trail will hit you , just like Gaels cape . It's the only boss in the game that teaches you what a perfectly timed dodge should look like . Actually a minor correction , ebrietas also teaches perfect dodge timing .

I’m also glad you enjoyed Laurence, I never really noticed any difference between his first phase and the cleric beast beyond the fire but maybe I was missing something I think his presentation is also excellent and he has a great soundtrack, but I personally didn’t enjoy the second phase. It was definitely creative, but I felt like it could’ve had a better execution Also I don’t mind the fire in the first phase per say as my favorite boss in the souls series (slave knight Gael) does something similar with his cape, I just feel like maybe the fight’s execution could’ve been better. A lot of the anger I showed was mostly played up for the sake of the video, but that runback got very annoying after a while and I personally just don’t find the second phase very fun Anyway sorry for my wall of text of a response, I fully respect your opinion and I’m happy you managed to find enjoyment in the boss, I just wanted to share why I disagreed

@demondude665 hmm I haven't had any issues , his timing is much more tight than most bosses . Every attack has to be dodged with the utmost precision. I think that's what I enjoy about it . You fuck your timing up , you get 1 shot . At first it felt bs to me but after practicing it 100 times it feels very tight and precise to me . The second phase still feels a bit chaotic at times but the 2nd phase is more about where your standing .

Git gud doesn’t really need to be applied to the one reborn fight. Firstly, you complained that you don’t know how to reach the enemies throwing fireballs at you. Try looking around the arena and maybe you’ll find a way to reach them. If it’s in a boss arena, you can reach it. Secondly, watching a boss’s move set and learning how to dodge accordingly is basic knowledge for any game. You had to do that with the first two and you have to do that here. So if you’re going to complain about something complain about your own shortcomings and inability to adapt and work out a strategy that works for you

Personally I love Laurence. I have him at 8th on my list, I think phase 1 changes enough to the Cleric Beast to feel new. For phase 2, I suggest sticking close to his right shoulder, his crawl attack is a lot easier to avoid! Love the content💙

Also just letting you know for the One reborn fight, you can reach the bell ladies by going to the far building on the right and going up the stairs then you can kill each of them. It is similar to the Tower knight from Demon Souls.

21:34 its not even get good. Hes a strange one. Hardly a boss imo. I use him as a bit of a dps check. I love eating a pellet and just going ham on him. My latest playthrough i didnt even kill the bell maidens, i just riped him to pieces. Im not sure how you "fight" him any other way. Not even sure what his moveset looks like and im well over 15 full playthroughs. His intro is cool, his theme is a BANGER, and his presentation is horrific. I love him even though he's all style no substance. Wouldnt call him terrible. 7/10. 23:40 Parryiable bosses are 5, no higher than 6 now that ive actually gotten really good at Bloodborne. 26:40 Deacon suck ass and Emissary at least counts as a legitimate boss even on its own in Chalice Dungeons. Also cooler style wise. Ebrietas is NOT fun. Not horrible, just a pain in the ass. Maybe its Chalice dungeons tgat made me not care for her. Her charge is also complete bullshit. Moves like that utterly ruin a boss. Micolash is a terrible boss and encounter. Ive forgotten how to make sure he goes to his second boss room and i spent a good amount of time bored chasing him. I cant tell if the bit about him being intentional bad is a bit or cope.

I initially had a huge amount of criticism written for this video, but youtube fucking sucks sometimes and kept giving me errors while posting, so I'll just say this. You missed a lot of details about a lot of the bosses, I think your take on Rom, Micolash, and Ebreitas are way to kind to those bosses, and I think you were in general way too nice to almost every boss in this game. I think you were mostly on point about Gerhman, Gascoigne, Ludwig, Maria, Kos, and Logarus when mentioning the really good bosses. I guess you did alright calling this a review over an analysis when considering how little detail you go into, but it is what it is I suppose.

Tip against bloodstarved beast: throwing a pungent cocktail into a wall is a great way to buy some time Couple minor corrections regarding Rom. First if I'm not mistaken Rom is a she. Second part of the reason the melee attacks seem rare might be because she only actually gets them in her *third* phase, not her second Not sure if you already know this but micolash's tentacle attack is *also* a spell, augur of ebrietas. If im remembering correctly you get it on the first floor of the lecture building.

I think I have that count because of the fact that my older videos were unpopular creepypasta related videos which I don’t really take an interest in anymore, this is my first time making a critical analysis type video and the first time one of my videos has gotten over 1k views My favorite right hand weapon is honestly a 3 way tie between the burial blade, rakuyo, and whirligig saw. I don’t usually use them though because of their own reasons 1. You only get the burial blade after beating basically the whole game so even if you decide to go for the childhood’s beginning ending it’s only really usable for chalices, the dlc if it hasn’t been finished yet, co-op/PvP, and ng+ 2. The rakuyo may have the best moveset but killing the two shark giants is absolute torture 3. I usually go for skill builds instead of strength, and as such I don’t use the whirligig saw much My favorite left hand weapon is honestly a little tough, as I don’t often experiment with them, but with that said I loved using the repeating pistol on my Bloodtinge build and with arcane the flamesprayer was really fun

I personally prefer the other souls games to demon’s souls but it’s still an underrated game and I don’t see many people talking about it much Another heads up, my opinions of the demon’s souls bosses are gonna be more of a mixed bag than my opinions on the bloodborne bosses, I don’t mind the slower pacing but a lot of bosses are more gimmicky than the ones in other other souls games, they’re still enjoyable overall though

Honestly Laurence's second phase is easy if you play cautiously (which i know goes against what the game teaches you) but the magma is easy to walk around and the stomps cab easily be dodged if you keep in mind where you are in the arena. And for dealing damage its just wait for the opening and then going in for one or two swipes then backing away to wait for the next opening. I know its not fun but it makes it more manageable

I actually gave an update for clarity in a new pinned comment just now, but basically I’ve fought the one reborn and killed the enemies above the arena recently and my opinion hasn’t really changed much, but it’s definitely a little better with killing the enemies And thanks for the compliment man! Very nice video! Finally KZbin recommendations managed to show me something good. I've beaten this game recently and have mixed opinion on it, so I will play it again to establish my opinion (and get the platinum trophy). I think that half of the bosses are so good that it worth playing just to fight them, other half is average-bad but easy and they won't stand in the way and there are a couple of bosses that are just bullshit for me (ebrietas for example, her first phase is manageable, but the second is just unfair with her attack spamming and especially weird hitboxes, even moving around her is difficult because of her tentacles, so I just smashed her face with cannonballs). There are really good fights but I feel like I missed the fun of them. Ludwig was awesome, especially his second phase, so were lady Maria and Orphan, but I've managed to beat Maria 2nd try and Orphan 1st try, so I think I will beat them again. Also I think I will try to beat the game without parrying, parry makes some bosses really easy, e. g. I just skipped Logarius second phase with parrying his scythe flight.

Rom has pretty good tells for her moves. Of course, spotting those tells can be a challenge when dodging one-shotting spiders and such. And while I consider it an easy fight, partly due to clear tells, it's ridiculously high damage fight too. Can't afford to get hit. Shadows of Yharnam actually spawn the huge snake attack based on total hp, not on enemies remaining. It took me several playthroughs to notice since I always focused on a single Shadow, but if you spread damage around they actually escalate based on collective damage taken. You don't want to have three Shadows still standing with huge snake attack on top.
