​@@kyobokira5802 you do NOT need to know what is happening in every part of the world. Human brain is not made to know all that. Humans knew what was going on in their tribe, maybe a couple of others that are close, thats all. You being informed about some horrid stuff happening on the other side of the globe does nothing but wreck your mental health. Focus on your surroundings, your country, your community. You do not need social media to be informed about that.

​@kyobokira5802 one thing I do is only permit myself to use the dogshit version of a service if I am using it too much. RN im only signed into instagram on my desktop computer and the firefox browser on my phone. I have never felt compelled to use reels or even discover page on that because it sux. I just look at stories and posts from friends. Ive done the same thing with yt, tik tok and discord before.

This is why I got a degree in marketing with a focus on DEIB and advertising. They are 1000% correct when they say you’re being dog walked into making all your decisions. Think about the timing of certain notifications. They know exactly what to say and when it is best to notify you so you’ll use their stuff. Marketing is simply psychology but in business. I am worried about what the future holds in terms of AI if we continue to delay taking control of it now.

You should really turn notifications off on your phone. Social media, KZbin, games, all distractions. And hide them off of your Home Screen. You’ll be much less likely to go on there, and less likely to get stuck.
