They should really add the ability to have a coach challenge a penalty that they believe was friendly fire. This could involve trips, highsticks, and maybe even goalie interference. In this case, Rick could ask the ref that they wish to challenge the penalty for a Friendly fire highstick. If the ref can't conclude within a minute or two that the penalty was friendly fire, then they will be penalized further with either an extra 2min extension to the original penalty or maybe a 5on3. If successful, the game continues with no penalties as if nothing happened.

This game started out slow, I mean it took nearly 16 minutes for McDavid to score then another over 12 minutes before Hyman got the 2nd of the night. Two from the Flyers to tie it up then a PP goal by Nuge over 19 minutes into the 2nd with a fast goal in the 3rd by Draisaitl (one timer from the slot) and Nuge getting his 2nd over 11 minutes into the 3rd for the 5-2 score. It got locked down from there and that was it for the scoresheet. It's odd how the NHL structures it's Power Plays, stats say both teams had 4 power plays yet the Oilers had 5 penalties taken (to 5 different people) vs 4 for the Flyers. Weird but whatever. PK at 100%. PP 1 for 4. McDavid with over 900 career points in his 602nd game making him the 5th fastest in NHL history (behind Gretzky, Lemieux, Bossy, and Stastny). Some of Connor's passes were kind of otherworldly, a no look sharp angle backhand pass to Hyman for the 2nd goal of the night. A saucer to Nuge for the 5th. Kind of went from one end to the other of oh Geez, it made it passes. Leon with a goal in his last 4 games. He's still not fully Leon to my eyes but he's getting there (and God help the opposition with McDavid in walks on water when it's unfrozen level and Leon, who hates the ocean, looking on from the beach while he annihilates in his own way). Take care all.

He's now got 8 goals this year and everyone knows he scores more late in the year and he scores in bunches, I still expect him to have 30-35 by the end of the year. But everyone is freaking out saying he's slowed down... You also have to remember that It's a new coaching system that is more defensive minded, he's had I believe 5 or 6 disallowed goals this year and about 15 posts. Eventually those will start going in, he will post up in his office on the PP and bang out quite a few more. Ovi has a few years left in him and I don't think he'll stop unless he hits the record.

Despite all the good things going on with the Rangers, I’ve seen this game before the Canes with Florida, Ottawa, Edmonton. Consistently the Rangers fold like a cheap suit when they’re up against big chippy, neutral ice clogging forwards. While I love Fox & Lindgren, the truth is they’re undersized. Lindgren does so much so Fox can pinch in the offense but it’s gotta wear him out. Fox doesn’t check guys. As he put its, “I work on positioning.” Pretty positioning won’t save you vs Brady Tchachuk. Offensively Rangers do not have a power forward guy like a Rick Nash who can create his own shot. You saw the Canes really take the Rangers out of their game and really slow it down. None of their forwards could really get past the Canes. As for Shesty, I’m sorry. He doesn’t look right. Love the kid but his collapses have been epic. Quick has been a godsend as a back up. I don’t know the Rangers’ window but I do know they’re close. Even if it means giving up significant youth, I’d entertain a trade for a power forward. Someone who can hurt the opponent and create his own shot. Again, if wishes were fishes. Let’s go Rangers!

Ever since we got done against the islanders and rangers our team I feel like lost motivation. We tied the road record and then decided to just give up and not try that hard. The problem I see with the team is that we can’t enter the opposition zone without dumping it in and immediately losing the puck. Our power play is useless and isn’t scary at all. For some reason earlier in the season we did really well getting into the zone and making good passes with good forecheck but now since December we’ve had non existent forecheck and our players stopped trying. Byfield hasn’t done anything, dubois is getting better but has horrible wingers to help him so that line is a lost cause, talbot kinda slowing down a bit. This is why in my opinion Todd mcllean is a reallly bad coach and I can see why he never wins in the playoffs. Dude can’t fix the team and doesn’t change ANYTHING and we’re just hopeless out there. Mcllean needs to go no matter our record. He never changes a thing to help the team and just expect the players to fix itself

Let’s go Preds, last nights game was boring in the second but a shutout and an exciting end to the third! Hope the Preds can stay in their wildcard spot….

Pittsburgh is probably the toughest team in the league to get a gauge on... Jarry is a jekyl and hyde goalie like Bennington...when they lose it, they LOSE IT!

So that’s why David Kaye (voice actor) was livid: because the Kings were shutout. 😑

Wild just don't have the depth to sustain injuries to their top 2 in points. In the span of the last 3 games, they've fallen from 3rd in the WC down to 7th. Unless Kap comes back much quicker than expected, this may be the death knell for our playoff hopes. I hope I'm wrong.
@dixonhill110810 ай бұрын
Garbage team, they need a rebuild but instead will just rot in purgatory for the rest of time.
@natebrown944610 ай бұрын
They're not a garbage team, but they're certainly not a team contending for the Cup in their current form. Hopefully this downturn is happening at the right time to convince management to do some selling before the deadline this year. With next year being the final year of our cap dead hits, we could prime ourselves well for the future if we're willing to accept this isn't our year and take some medicine.

Might as well start calling the Blackhawks the "IceHogs." They're probably going to have to call up yet another one of them to replace Beauvillier. Not that they have many left, since most of them are already with Chicago. FFS. The injury situation is getting ridiculous.

You were certainly tired for the Oilers game. A. That Hyman goal was McDavid's 900th career point. B. The Drasaitl goal was scored during the delayed 6 on 5. So technically even strength. That said I cannot fathom how you keep up with every game in the NHL. Keep up the good work.

I don't know what Knoblauch fed to the team after they brought him on, but the Oilers are an entirely different beast right now. The coach-change buff is real. In fact, if you want to have like a 90% winrate in the NHL, just keep firing your coaches every ten games or so to keep renewing the coach-change buff infinitely. I think that might be the next meta.

Minnesota has had terrible injuries this year. On the radio broadcast they said between the injured players and the cap issues Wild are playing with 50% of the player salaries off the ice today. Thats painful. They had 5 AHL guys? Something like that. I only known of the Wild if you read this and know other injury issue teams please share.

The Wild showed good fight considering their current situation. Kaprizov, Zuc, Foligno, Lettieri, Brodin and Gus all injured. Playing with 4 AHL players and literally half the cap space of the rest of the league. If it wasn't already, the injuries have sealed us missing the playoffs.

The Kings disqualified goal was explained by ESPN broadcasters as goaltender interference whereas Sportsnet broadcasters Cuthbert and Simpson surmised that the referee blew the whistle and there was no continuation on the play. At least that what was presented on the recap of the broadcast.

In the Sharks game I was really disappointed the Wings didn't pull Lyon after the empty net goal with a handful of seconds left...not for any hockey related reason, though. Let the Wings get the regulation win but let the Sharks score 4 goals so I could've gotten some free tacos.

DEja vu all over gain for the Islanders. Early lead. Late penalties to tie game. OT loss. Low energy Lane needs to change this narrative. Has any team made a deep run in the playoffs having lost 20 times in OT?????????
