honestly for me, TxT had some really good CB's, they really owned the rock concept, lovesong is just amazing and unbeatable, lover=loser may not have topped lovesong but it's still pretty gud

yeah I found myself not enjoying kpop as nearly as much as I usually do this summer. I listened to weekend on repeat when it came out, but ultimately it was forgettable and nothing new. I would have to say my fav release may be nakka by akmu ft. iu! it’s just been stuck in my head and has such great production. and ur so right, brave girls totally saved the summer!!

My favorite summer comebacks were Popping and Wave. I actually started ulting both ONF and CIX after Beautiful Beautiful and Cinema because they are my favorite songs of the year and I’ve fallen in love with their discographies. I was underwhelmed with both songs at first because I had such high expectations, but watching the live stages, especially for Popping, I’ve just gotten so much joy from them that I feel in love with my songs. Both are my second favorite songs on their respective albums, I liked Dry Ice and 20 more, but both groups had solid comebacks. I am a sucker for bright boy group comebacks and these two groups really made me happy while I was under a lot of stress and anxiety.

The music show stages for both are fantastic! I'm glad we're getting more cheerful boy group concepts in kpop, I definitely prefer them to the edgier ones 😂 I can see both songs growing on me at some point tbh, I thought Ugly Dance was forgettable on first listen but now I really like it. I hadn't checked out CIX's album before recording this, but now that I have, I think several of the b-sides are stronger. Bad Dream and 20 are fantastic! Dry Ice was also my favorite song from ONF's album :)

i manifest composer somi, just let her release her own music. i think that second by hyoyeon, featuring bibi has to be my favorite. song is simple, warm and hopeful also we love bibi getting more exposure!!! many people checked her out after it, and since she and stella jang are my favorite solo artists it melts my heart to see her fanbases grow.
@YeriPotter3 жыл бұрын
Outta My Head is still her best solo song. I'm not familiar with other Blacklabel artists, but I'm guessing not all of their songs are produced by Teddy, so I genuinely don't understand why Somi/Blackpink don't get to work with other producers :/ Second is so catchy!!! Also loved seeing the SNSD members reunite to do the Second challenge 😂

SF9 Tear Drop was supposed to be released January/February that's why it has that vibe but Mnet Kingdom happened so they had to delay the release to July. Hence why it doesn't have the summer vibe that Summer Breeze had.

To be fair I recorded this at like 1 in the morning 😅 I think the overall albums and b-sides were on par with most years, but the title tracks didn't stick out to me as much. Also there was some random three-week period where barely anyone released music which felt odd to me. I still have hope for this month though, I love a.c.e's new song, and the teasers for stayc's comeback have been promising!

This was probably the summer where the title tracks felt a bit more forgettable for me with very few exceptions (Dreamcatcher - Because, Moon Jong Up - Us, ONF - Popping, Sunmi - You can't sit with us, A.C.E. Changer). However the bsides are really great. Sunmi narcissism, ONF dry ice, Weeekly Weekend, Red Velvet Pose (this is iconic). Brave Girls (Pool Party, Fever and After 'We Ride') and Twice saved my summer (Alcohol Free and Scandal). This is just my opinion and feel free to disagree!

i also found this summer disappointing. i think this is just a down year for kpop. 2019 wasn't hitting for me either, esp after the greatness of 2018. so i guess 2021 feels bleak compared to hit after hit in 2020. i feel the same about bts, permission to dance was just such a generic song and their voices didn't even sound like them. i'm suspicious they actually bought a random ed sheeran track and it wasn't even written for them. my other ults, red velvet, also really disappointed me with a boring title and imo their first miss. i mostly keep up with girl groups and the only july/august i added on my playlist were girlkind good vibes only and heygirls shining star. i'll check out the boy group comebacks you said were good. but yeah to end my rant, i don't think that it's u got used to the comeback cycle i think the releases are truly just underwhelming lately.
@YeriPotter3 жыл бұрын
I definitely felt the same way in 2019, there are only a few comebacks that wowed me in hindsight, whereas 2018 and 2020 were full of great music. I'll have to check out the Girlkind and Heygirls comebacks, I've been in the mood to listen to more girl group music lately

Am checking your videos of from a reddit thread. I don't know your sound recording setup, but I find it hard to listen to. I think a combination of speaking louder, further away from the mic, and/or adding foam filters would help the mouth sounds. Like the content so far.

pretty late to this video, but i’d like to say that i genuinely enjoy your content so much. your eloquence and ability to clearly express your opinion are super refreshing on ktube! you’re doing really great ❤️ i also strongly agree that this summer’s releases have been very lacklustre. we were robbed of some good “touch my body”, “red flavour”, and “umpah umpah” vibes 😔 hopefully kpop will get it’s vitality back in the last quarter since year-end releases seem to always be the strongest.

So I just wanna know your opinion on splash by mirae and also your opinion on close your eyes by bz-boys and your opinion on gas pedal by cravity also outsider was kinda disappointing especially minhyuks rap
@YeriPotter3 жыл бұрын
Splash: The melody lowkey feels like Mafia In The Morning, while the rap sections are giving me NCT vibes. It's not really my taste, but I like the prechorus and bridge a lot. Close Your Eyes: I like this song, I hadn't heard of this group before! I think the transitions between sections of the song were a bit messy, but overall the melody is nice. I also enjoy it when traditional instruments are incorporated into songs. Gas Pedal: It feels like a SuperM/NCT reject tbh. I unfortunately haven't liked most of Cravity's title tracks, they're just not my cup of tea, but I've heard that their b-sides are pretty good so I'll have to give their albums a listen.
