I ride for Melanie, but ive never seen such a talent be sooo incapable of performing. She needs to meet w a sports psych daily for a while. Not heaping it all on her shoulders, but the only word to describe France not making TF is pathetic. Pains me to say that but its the truth.
@ariannadesantis99665 ай бұрын
I don’t know if that’s true but I’m starting to believe France fed wanting them to train at some joined gym instead of them being in separate part of the country (even the world in case of Melanie) may be kinda right (?!). Like idk but seeing Italy (which does that) being so successful is starting to make me believe it can helpful to have gymnasts meeting each other daily, and be more connected as a team. Italy took the mistake of the others and improve the routines when needed, France instead crumbled and if someone fell they followed her. I know Americans don’t train together either but I believe they are successful enough to not need it, maybe France needs it, everyone is different but seeing the performance I guess this is part of the problem, they looked like strangers, and Melanie should’ve been in Europe more doing some minor competition, instead she also chose to skip Euros, and it’s crazy considering she’s never been consistent enough to afford to skip some meets. I hated Italy for making them over competing to the point they get injured at minor competitions too, but maybe they were right, they had the mindset to face it like a minor meet they did a thousand times in 2024
@brandonbrown19165 ай бұрын
@ariannadesantis9966 They don't need a centralized system. If monthly camps happen, then they're fine. They simply need to compete more. Training well and then dropping the balls/injuries once there's an audience around, is the problem for most of these countries, US included. In the 90s, the best competed at the World Cups. They weren't suddenly deer in headlights at comp time. 1 thing elite could learn from NCAA is more competition.
@ariannadesantis99665 ай бұрын
@@brandonbrown1916 I agree, I didn’t know they had regular monthly camps, but I believe getting to be in a centralised system (not always but at least the year of the e Olympics) can also get you more in touch with the coaches that will be in the arena with you (Italy shares the same coaches for the most part, and that I think that helped). You can’t prevent injuries but I agree you can prevent panicking by getting athletes compete a little more (not to Italian levels), but I think it’s crazy mdjds basically haven’t been in the world stage since worlds 2023. The deer comments took me out btw 💀💀
@brandonbrown19165 ай бұрын
@ariannadesantis9966 These WOMEN aren't the 90s girls who say 'I just wana hit 4 for 4'. They just need to feel the pressure of competition. Idk if they have monthly camps, but I can't imagine a country who wouldn't. France needs to get more used to having something on the line, and not just training. There's nothing else to say beyond the fact that they imploded and didn't show up to make the final, which is pathetic.
@ariannadesantis99665 ай бұрын
@@brandonbrown1916 I do agree, at the of the day talent without stamina and mindset to perform is “useless”, that’s why ppl like Iordache and many others always under achieved in their careers. I believe more competitions is the only way, maybe sport therapist, and if that still doesent work they probably aren’t suited for those level of sport, which again isn’t just based on talent inside the gym. Once again, Langston, you don't miss. Thank you for continually uploading content. I don't think i could suffer gymcastic another episode. The way they intentionally disrespect certain gymnasts in an effort to elevate their favs is just really gross. I appreciate that you don't do that. You just tell it like it is. Jordan was absolutely robbed in the AA. I'm so sick of hearing about sunis kidney disease as if that's an excuse for bad vaults and subpar fx. This is the Olympics. Is suni historically a better gymnast? Yes, no doubt. But that doesn't change that Jordan was better the day of qualifications. Period. And Jordan DID congratulate suni even despite being disappointed. Jordan is a class act and a great sportsman. She deserved that second AA spot and even if she doesn't say it, she knows it. Jade.... Yeah my girl is sick. I could tell walking into the arena that something was seriously wrong. That's not just nerves, she was ghost white (more than usual). But people saying they should have put joscelyn in? Lol no. Joscelyn wouldn't have had medal potential anywhere. And in qualifications they could drop jades score if they had to. I know she's gotta be super disappointed, but if she's currently sick, she's sick. Not much she can do but wait it out. Not happy about seeing suni in the fx TF though. Lame routine, low difficulty, just not great. If Jade had been at her best like she was at trials she would have no doubt cleared Rebecca during qualifications. But that didn't happen so it's not really worth even talking about. Again, thank you for doing this channel.

Can I just say that not all Asian Americans are the same. I'm not a part of the gymternet, so I never talk one gymnast up in order to bring another down. I just don't. That's just not how I enjoy watching the sport. Also there's a lot of racism within the Asian community also, and one of reason why I was proud of Suni's AA gold was because she's Hmong, and there's still an idea among some Asians that South Asians are beneath the Chinese and Japanese. That being said, her DTY was definitely overscored, but she's got other qualities that are great. I would never say she was better than Andrade b/c she's not. I do think she's better than Jordan, but if Jordan edged her out I would understand how that happened. It just hurts me when you say all these things about Asian Americans, as though we're all the same. Some Asians are confused and have internalized this colonizer mindset, like Asher Hong, but that's not everyone. Like I can forgive a white person for supporting Trump before I can forgive an Asian person for that. Unfortunately, people like Asher will be carrying Brody Malone's water, expecting that one day it will be their turn in the spotlight, but that will never happen, not like that. Also I did my BA in Ethnic Studies, which is why I enjoy your channel, and is an absolutely fract that Black women bear the brunt of both racism and misogyny (while also being the most educated group in America) all around the world. And I admire you for standing up for black women, b/c it's necessary and I don't see anyone else doing it in this area. But there's also something called the 'model minority' which came about in the late 70s, early 80s, that Republicans and conservatives conceived in order to make certain there was no solidarity between Black and Asian communities, b/c there's always investment in protecting white supremacy, even when it's not said outright, it's usually the goal. It's classic divide and conquer. During and before the Vietnam War, Asian communities in America were very different, there were fewer Asher Hongs around. Anyway, this is just me telling you how it feels to see this aspect of the model minority myth persist, especially in light of everything you say that that I do agree with. For me, I don't think one needs to disparage one person or group in order to lift anyone else up. We can just say the truth, which is often very apparent. Suni is good, but Simone and Rebeca are better. But I get the sense that the gymternet is obsessed w/ these kinds of debates. Thankfully, the gymternet is not the world!

Also, I've been high on Hezly since Jr Worlds. I saw the potential, but stood 10 toes down that she simply wasn't ready for this team. She can run the next quad in the US. She hasn't been tested and thus, gained the results for something so heavy. I wanted Leanne to get the spot as a tried and true, tested team member. I hate that she now has to have such a potentially negative experience associated w her Oly experience, like not being used in TF. It made 0 logical sense. Alicia n Chellsie know 1st hand what the Olys is like, and to think that Hezly, who wasn't even in the running on day 1 of trials, was the right choice, is insane.
