"Clear" winner! You did a fantastic job playing and recording this set! I'm "clearly" convinced that I will own these.

I purchased this kit earlier this year and use it in our dance band Blue Velvet Groove. It has Remo Colortone (Blue, of course) on top and bottom. Nothing but compliments from the sound guys, other musicians, as well as audience. My other kit is a Sonor Lite purchased new ('86). I don't think I'll ever need another kit .... Oh, wait. Stainless Steel ..

I own a Vistalite acrylic and a dw acrylic and yeah, acrylic kits are super loud but there’s something about that heavy sound that makes you smile like no other kit lol

I had the silverstar version of these drums,i didn't find the kit to be any louder than my other tamas and the kick was unbelievable, only downside was weather temperature, bringing them from freezing cold outside into a warm venue the racks especially would have lost there tuning, thats what lead me to sell it in the end

Sounds great, as good as any wood kit

I'm suprised how much I like the snare. The Tom's obviously sound great. The kick lacks a little punch... but I'm suprised how much attack the snare has while still being the kinda mushy sounds I'd expect from an acrylic shell. I guess that's the die cast I'm hearing maybe.

Not for jazz, fusion, pop etc. But in Rock and Metal music loud drums are desirable and sounds impressive.

It's not unusual to see acrylic drums at live events - a quality version offers short, precise notes with strong projection minus the complex overtones of wood shells. The Mars Volta's new drummer Philo Tsoungui has been using one live, and the sound is bombastic even when she gets into the Latin fusion stuff.

Nice work. Acrylic drums are cool. It all depends on preference and application. I've played a few old Ludwig's at church and on a gig in a small bar room. They really are loud!! I also own, and have owned acrylic snares. I have a one off snare cut from an old ludwig vistalite black concert tom. The top portion is still a concert tom. The bottom half is the snare. Black shell, tube lugs, and hoops. Chrome throw off and butt plate.
