Hi Jean, I'm so so glad you loved Wundersmith and spoke about it here. I'm from Australia and I love that Townsend is getting credit, especially when she's an aussie author. I studied the first book in class and my teacher introduced it to us and I have been addicted and cannot wait for the third book. This is hands down my favourite series at the moment and it's just getting better as it goes along. 😊

Mine are Prisoner of Azkaban and Deathly Hallows. That being said, what I do like about half blood prince is that final taste of howgarts student life and that it feels like a prequel to the end, so many important points to build on the last book, and I feel like if I love deathly hallows is very much thanks to half blood prince as well

I love The Nevermore series. I listened to both the first and second book through audible and pre-ordered the second book for when it comes out. I can't wait to find out what happens next. My comfort books are the Key To Rondo Series. I have both the audiobooks and the physical books (the first book signed by the author) I read/listen to them once a year. Another book I read/listen to at LEAST once a year would be the Skulduggery pleasant books. The first two are my favourite along with Mortal Coil. I also love The Midnight Circus.

Half Blood Prince is one of my top 3 (it changes periodically), but it's currently my fave, although I haven't re-read them in a while. It's the last one where we're in Hogwarts for most of the time, a lot of the relationships between Ron, Hermione, Harry, Ginny and the others are evolving and changing, and we learn so much about key characters. That's why I love it so much, although I love them all.

My favorite HP book is Half-Blood Prince for the fact that series takes such a dark tone and the intro storyline for the Horcruxes was amazing and set up perfectly for the last book. My personal least favorite is Order of the Phoenix just cause I find almost all of the characters not acting like themselves and it is way too long.
@pEAcEgrL84 жыл бұрын
Love this video!!! I remember loving the Order of the Phoenix the most when I read the Harry Potter series as a child but I think that was probably because it was the longest haha. I also have always loved Sirius and Bellatrix's characters so that could have played a part. It's interesting though because I don't love the 5th movie, specifically because the character of Umbridge (not the acting) is so annoying. When the Deathly Hallows came out that book became my favorite right away. Now that I'm older and have read them so many more times I can't tell! I always read all 7 when I choose to re-read them (can't just do one randomly). I think if I had to pick it would be the Deathly Hallows though. Also, the part I love about the Half Blood Prince is the development of the love stories, as well as Ginny's character in general!
@pEAcEgrL84 жыл бұрын
Just noticed somebody else commented on the development of Tom Riddle's character in the Half Blood Prince as well. So much character building in the 6th book! :)

My top 10 highest rated are an interesting mix: Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo, Stamped From the Beginning by Ibram X Kendi (nonfiction about the history of racism in USA), Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare, Harry Potter #6, The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah, HP #3, HP #4, Becoming by Michelle Obama, A Storm of Swords by GRRM, and The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. Pretty much agree that those are all great books! A little surprised Becoming isn't higher up, but at the same time, they're all almost neck-and-neck - the highest rating is 4.60 and the lowest is 4.51.

Thanks for the 'Here the world entire' recommendation, it sounds fantastic. With the Half Blood Prince, I would say that it's my least favourite because it has a lot of exposition filler preparing for Deathly Hallows. Also, Harry's emotional journey is less prominent than Order of the Phoenix for example, even though he is grieving for Sirius and finding out about his life changing role in defeating Voldemort. It just seems to concentrate on him fancying Ginny. Thanks for your most recent videos - content on point as always ☺️

Halfblood Prince is in fact my favourite Harry Potter book. While it's not exactly slow-paced and we are finally making some steps in the direction of defeating Voldemort instead of just the "Monster of the Week", it's still a break from all the drama and upheaval that went on in vol. 5 and it's like the quiet before the storm: you know it will be the last time that you get to follow everyone around through a "normal" school year (as normal as they come, anyway). I liked the comfort-read factor of it.

Also the chamber of secrets is my least favourite. Actually currently listening to it as an audiobook for the first time. Still love it but yeah. I think its because I find it the most anxiety inducing and frustrating. I get frustrated with the way Harry is treated and accused. I couldn't get past the middle of Two Towers, so I agree the movies are so much better. In my opinion, the movies cut the fat from the story. My immediate example is the exclusion of Tom Bombadill from the movies - I didn't find enough of a point to him.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is my favourite book from the series. My top 5 highest rated books that I’ve read are: Take On The World by Sejuti Mansur, who happens to be a friend of mine. It is a collection of articles about climate change, politics and other prevalent topics. It uses Bangladesh as a case study and it is just fascinating. Highly recommend. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Christmas Past from The Chronicles of St Mary’s by Jodi Taylor. It is a short story in a series about historians that time travel. The whole series is excellent and absolutely hilarious. Becoming by Michelle Obama In Order To Live by Yeonmi Park. I loved all five of these books and would highly recommend!

Half-Blood Prince was my least favourite HP book because it felt like a bridge book rather than its own novel. We spent so much time being given exposition about the Horcruxes which I found clunky and a bit boring. People may love it because of how shocking the ending was, but since I read Harry Potter for the first time two years ago and had been sufficiently spoiled for every aspect of the story it didn't impact me as much as I'm sure it did others. My favourite book is Order of the Phoenix because seeing Harry dealing with the repercussions of Goblet of Fire hit me in the feels real hard. Also, I could really relate to Harry writing his O.W.L.s cause I read it around the time I wrote my GCSEs and Rowling captured the atmosphere perfectly.

Omg, Half-Blood Prince has ALWAYS been my favorite! It's at the point that all the mature themes of the series really come to a head. We get so much more development of Harry and Dumbledore, and we learn about Voldemort's past. Everyone discovers hormones. We get a lot of great Hogwarts lessons and a Draco mystery, and then a whopper of an ending. It's just my favorite one to read! I don't think it's a very uncommon opinion, I've seen a lot of people with me on this one lol.

Half-Blood Prince is my fave HP because I loved learning all the background about the war and I really loved seeing so much of Ginny, who is my fave character. Chamber of Secrets is my second fave, again because Ginny is so important to the story, even if she gets a criminal lack of page time. Deathly Hallows is a lot lower on my list because it feels both too slow and too quick. A lot of it seems aimless but also the fact that they were able to find all the horcruxes in one year seems far-fetched to me. Also no Ginny so :/ But I did still like all the background info about the war and key players in it, so it's not my least favorite or anything.

What I'm most shocked by is A Man Called Ove, I hated it! It has no charm and I don't find a rude angry man enjoyable... I think The 100 Year Old Man series is actually what people buzz about Ove being I'm scared to look at the lowest rated because I think I'll find some favorites at the bottom...

#Justice4ChamberOfSecrets! My favourite is Prisoner of Azkaban so I was pleased to see that that one's second, but yeah I think Half-Blood Prince is my least favourite too. It's so depressing. :') Though I still love it because I love all of them. But on my most recent reread I was surprised to see how much I liked Chamber of Secrets because so many people seem to dislike it. I love a lot of things about it (Harry's time at The Burrow, the Basilisk mystery, Lockhart) but I think the reason why a lot of people don't like it is because Hermione is petrified for most of it?
