I can relate my wrist can take a 40mm 41mm watch but I prefer the classic old school gentleman size of 36mm or 38mm I wish manufacturers made more 36mm watches.

@@JK-ww8dn I couldn't pull off wearing a 36mm watch anymore to save my life. Their AE1000, AE1200 and SGW500 are more my size. I can go a little smaller than those, but that's about the top of the range for me, especially that SGW500, which is the absolute largest watch I can wear. I can go as small as their A500, which is roughly the same width as the F91, but a little taller and a little thicker. The only G-Shock I can safely wear is the DW5XXX squares. The next ones up are comical on me. Actually, I've never seen one on anyone that didn't look entirely comical, and I think a lot of that stems from how absurdly thick they are, plus the size of the crown and/or pushers doesn't help matters much.

Casio doesn't pull watches that people like they're a really perceptive company when it comes to listening to their fans which is why the f91 is still in mass production as well as the a168 or a158? That being said this watch probably didn't sell the way they thought it would?? It is a kracker of a watch though.

I think it's to put something there, most watches say Automatic or the Jewel count. I kind of wish it just said "Quartz" like every quartz watch in the 80s had.

It's a diamond in the rough which has a lot of potential to look awesome with some modding. Straps should be really easy to change while the face would be slightly harder. Everything else is there already anyway so it kinda works.

I think it's very cool. I'm not in love with quartz watches, but hey, it's sapphire, and hits all the second marks, and a 10 year battery means it won't exactly have to have its battery replace all the time. Sounds rather nice.

I bought the blue version with a steel bracelet, and it really is an amazing watch for the price, the dial pops beautifully when light hits it. the only weak point is the bracelet that isn't very comfortable

Ben, I bought the watch because of your recommendation. True -- it's a very impressive watch for the money and is everything you say it is: quality-built, good-looking, comfortable fit, a bargain, etc. It definitely looks more like a $130-$200 USD watch to me. I would tell Casio to make 3 small changes to the dial wording: "SAPPHIRE" --> "Sapphire" "10YEAR BATTERY" --> "10 Yr Battery" "WR50M" --> "WR 50m" I would also tell Casio to use the same case, movement, and crystal to make a field watch style variant of it. I think it'd sell like hotcakes.

That Cal. 2719 movement seems to be present in a lot of "10 Year Battery" models. Including some Edifice line. Great watch, most affordable sapphire watch ever. With amazing quality. Looks amazing as well. Great review!

Because in fact the 2719 is unmodified Miyota 2S60. So there you have it, a sapphire Citizen for a fraction of the cost.

The style of the dial is very Seiko-like, which is not a bad thing at all. For that price, you get sapphire glass and a date complication. This Casio is ICE COLD!

Well, already received it. Swapped the strap for a thin all-black NATO on day one (with my strapping style, all the excess bulk is underneath the wrist). By the way, module 2719 is a pure, unmodified Miyota 2S60. But as you probably know, you just cannot buy a new dressy-looking Citizen three-hander with a flat sapphire glass for such price. Well, you obviously can if it's branded as Casio. Ice cold. Starting the accuracy measurement. I had some 2719-based watches long ago (MTP-1219A, LIN-168...) and some of them had like 25s/year deviation which is definitely not bad.

I have this one since december 2019 in blue which is more beautiful. Perhaps the leather strap is not the best and the 10 year battery logo kills a bit the style but the blue dial is so much beautiful to refuse. The lume is great.

I own for a couple of months the silver version with stainless steel bracelet - and it really is a great watch!! I love it, I consider it incredible good looking and stylish. I am sort of a maniac and found out it goes faster about 1 second in 2 months! :)

After 2 years, I (almost) stand by my initial claim, meaning that it seems like it's going faster about 1 second per month, not per 2 months. Still great in my opinion. Meanwhile I bought two other watches, both quartz and both chronographs (Pulsar and Festina) but they don't match the accuracy of this one. Which is still doing the heavy lifting - I wear it almost daily, no issues.

An ice cold for someone's first dress/everyday watch. You can't go wrong with Casio tho. And also, most of Casio watches tend to hit the second markers consistently.

Thank you for the great video. I bought this watch for less than 50 € bargain price from Amazon Germany. Changed the lousy steel bracelet to a aftermarket leather strap. Looks great with the new leather strap. It is a great watch for the money. It even fits my rather large 9 inch wrist. I give it a cool for the looks and affordability.

I have a 50€ Casio analog watch in my Collection for 12 years now, batery lasted for 10 almost 11 years and the watch is stil working perfectly fine. No one, literally no one can go wrong with Casio, they are simply the best.

I am struggling to choose between this one (the blue dial + metal strap version MTS-100D-2AVEF) and the Edifice EFV-110D-2AVUEF (also blue dial + metal strap, also one of Ben's favourites). Right now they are both heavily discounted in shops in my country, with the Edifice being the cheaper one of the two: 39 vs 47 GBP. I am not joking, they are both 50% off in some shops and I find that absolutely ridiculously affordable. I am leaning towards the Sapphire + 10 year battery, but the slightly higher quality and water resistance of the Edifice are also appealing.

I bought a white version of this watch a few months ago when I first started watching videos about watches and wanted to buy one but I wasn't ready to pay a lot of money. I have quite large wrists and the strap was too small for me so I immediately changed the not-so-good strap, and it much improved the watch overall. My watch doesn't quite hit every second marker so I think you were lucky there, but it is pretty close. The watch is very accurate losing only about 5 seconds a month. Although I have since got another watch, I still like wearing this one when I want something not very large and plain. Overall I like it a lot. I don't think you can beat Casio at the bottom end of the market.

Got mine, the blue one with the steel band, for about fifty some five months ago. Really like it for my intedend purpose as a everyday/casual/work/beater-watch. When working the mineral crystals always get scratched badly so I wanted to try a cheap sapphire . The case is OK, dial with applied indices and hands are very nice. Metal band is rather low end with very noticably folded links and rattle but still adequarte looking for the watch. Still, overall the watch looks very good, especially the way the silver hands catch the light againts the blut dial. One of the things that I like most about it is that, looking at the parts individually you can clearly see the corners cut, but the complete unit is a well rounded package that looks pretty good as whole on wrist. Also got lucky with my unit with only 2.8 seconds deviation :-)

It does look like the Seiko SNKL23. Now that that was discontinued (and many yt reviews hailed that a great quality value) it’s the perfect time for this watch. Especially as Casio’s old, discontinued MTD1010 costs much more now, and was another watch compared to others (in this case, a rolex submariner) Good vid, have a good day!

I would say “pretty cool” for £50 you can always up grade the strap to a better quality strap such as a Hirsch Calf Leather.

First of all, kudos for the macro shots and ESPECIALY for picking that marvelous "7" at the date window, "putting the cherry on the top of the cake"! Sweet mate, guess your photographer deserves the cake ...and a hug (enjoy together, you know what i mean, right?). Strangely though, as i was watching the vid , i couldn't help to think "Nice watch, but Casio has that other sportier beauty, that efv-100 something..." and then - BooM - there it is!. Please get the white dial, black is way too glossy, plus it's a strap monster. I'm on it 92% and rising...lol Anyways, cool watch for someone looking for something like that. Still none can bit the Lorus, so far... PS Looking at the comments i'm always one step back (or two...) in rating watches featured here. Definitely an ice cold watch, the price is good for you guys but not really for me because I’m staying at Malaysia. Beautiful dial, sapphire glass and trustworthy brand. This is a very nice watch by the look of it and for £50 with a 10 year battery life is a very attractive buy. The only thing I can criticise with this watch is putting 10 year battery on the face of the watch, I know Casio does it on some of their digital watches but it looks out of place here and if they need to put it anywhere it would be better put on the caseback. I think it would have been better in a 38mm size rather than 40mm but that is my own personal preference when purchasing any watch like this whatever brand. On the whole though I would say this is ICE COLD due to having a sapphire crystal, a good design and also a 10 year battery life which I think other watch companies should also do who produce quartz watches. I like the Casio you are wearing in this video, if it's the same as mine the A700WEM-7AEF with the grey dial and mesh bracelet that is definately ICE COLD also, I love mine and wear it often. Thanks for posting this video Ben.

Cool watch, especially at this price-point. We have 7 versions here in the Netherlands; the blue, black and silver ones all can be had with either a leather strap or the bracelet. If you choose leather the blue one comes with a blue leather strap and the silver dial version comes with a brown one. Then there's a also gold colored case with a brown leather strap & a white/silver dial.
