Thank you for the thorough explanation and demonstration for your power station. I love Bluetti. I have a EB3A22 / 600W / 1,200W Surge. It is very basic but that's all I need for now. I can get 2 nights of phone, fan and laptop charge, which I then re-charged 100% in 5 hours of driving. So easy! I hope to get solar panels for my next trip out. I recommend Bluetti to EVERYONE. Did I say, it's so easy? Just last month I took 7 days to drive 1,700 miles from Idaho to So. California. I loved boondocking. Carolyn, you have taken the fear out of my travels by seeing your example. Thanks again.

Night loss is huge, I am working on this point. Actually just leaving PV or grid connection plugged in costume 5 to 10% overnight. Battery self heating consumes as well. You can set eco mode to ON, so after 4hrs with no AC output, inverter turns off and eventually the entire system will shut off. Again, night loss seems something impossible to resolve/reduce, also asking Bluetti. A big headache

Bluetti is amazing. If I were full-time with a bigger rig (I have a tiny Casita), I'd have a big Bluetti and find a special place to store it. Huge plus is it is quiet and non smelly.

Thanks for the review! Carolyn! I have much lighter AC180 and thinking about getting an AC300 to run a stationary RV totally off grid with a 5000 BTU window air conditioner for when my animals have to be left at home. Maybe some rigid panels so i can get more solar in without haulinf around a bunch of portables. Couple questions - How the heck do you carry that 500 and 300s combo in and out of an RV and where do you store it ? Would the AC 300 be enough if Im not running things like microwaves. Just kettle, vitamix, small AC window unit only sometimes , and electric blankets in winter ( in Blue Ridge mountains). Plus I wonder if plugging the little window unit directly into the bluetti would get better/longer run time, instead of through the outlets in RV if they are receiving power from the shore line being plugged into the Bluetti. Happy Trails!

The larger solar generators are heavy so it would be a good thing to mount it in a secure weatherproof location in or on the RV. If you’re generator compartment is large enough for this or any other solar generator would you consider removing your non working built in generator?

I would be worried that its doewn to 12% and then no sun that day. Would getting more solar panels fix this or more batteries? What steps would improve the chances of keeping 24/7 power living in a van/rv/ boxtruck type setup with similar power usage to what you use? Thanks. Btw greetings from a fellow New Yorker. Im down by the city though on Long Island .

I think it is a very bold claim to say that this will solve all of your power needs. The batteries that are in those machines are not supposed to be taken below 20% regularly or it diminishes the overall life of it. You got less than 10% of charge on a fall day. Winter needs and summer needs are MUCH more extreme. I would never recommend this over a gas generator for someone who lives on the road.
@CarolynsRVLife
@CarolynsRVLife Жыл бұрын
I understand why you think this. However the Bluetti LifePo4 batteries have built in battery protection, which means they can neither be discharged too deeply nor overcharged. Bluetti recommends discharging it to zero before recharging. community.bluettipower.com/t/ac300-2xb300-how-far-down-do-you-discharge-every-6-months/4966/3 And what happens if you run out of gas? Or we, as a country runs out of gas? Then your gas genny is useless. And I've tried starting my gas generator in cold weather. Sometimes it's impossible. I understand this system may not be for everyone. I've done dozens of reviews over the years, my goal is to provide information so viewers can choose what's best for them.
@CarolynsRVLife
@CarolynsRVLife Жыл бұрын
From Bluetti: BLUETTI Admin Sep '22 HI @kmackva , Yes, discharge to 0% then charge to 100% and do not carry the device during charging. This will calibrate the SOC. DOD is already set before leaving the factory. No need to worry, you charge and discharge to 0% will not affect the machine.
@Independent_DIY
@Independent_DIY Жыл бұрын
@@CarolynsRVLife That's great that this product offers that feature, but all Lithium batteries degrade faster when they are brought below 20% regularly. All of that aside It still couldn't meet your minor fall power needs for more than a day or two it looks like from this video. Whatabout'isms are tough for me. But I know how to make a wood gasifier run a generator, so I'm probably better off than most people with a Bluetti in your hypothetical situation. We really are big fans of your channel, I just don't agree that this is an everyday power solution for people who full time in an RV. Cost for cost a small generator just makes more sense.. Also I've gotten our generator to start in -20, so it's not impossible at all..

Good luck with your Bluetti Promotion. Unfortunately, Bluetti, and other companies of the like, have gotten extremely rich at the expense of American customers that they do not provide good customer service to. If any at all. They simply don't care to improve it.
