Riding and Reviewing the new 2021 Burton Step On X with the Ion Step On boot. Buy this binding here: www.radioboard...
The latest Burton Step On Binding is made with 50% carbon fiber, 50% nylon blend that adds for a slight increase in response. The Step On X stiffness is felt most when riding them on an EST channel board. Due to the stiffer components in the base tray, the Step On X does not peel away from the board as much as the regular Step On binding does.

@@jonbrown9490 A great review. Burton Reflex binding and baseplates are designed to allow an amount of flex. The EST even has a hinge system built in to allow similar flexing. So I guess its down to individual preference as to how much flex you want.

I have the Photon boots and after 4 seasons on them I’m definitely craving something more responsive and stiff of which the only option so far is the Ion. I would agree that the other models feel too soft including the DC Control which is stiffness rated at 6/10. Another option will be the 21/22 DC Judge which will be offered in Step On and is stiffness rated at 8/10

@SearchofSnowboarding

Putting your Step Ons on a 4 hole rather a burton channel just means that the binding will not lift away from the board as much on a 4 hole board. The step ons work great on any board. @anawara
@anawara 3 жыл бұрын
@@jhrycun thanks! I've been trying to confirm this for 2 months now, and you're the first person who does! I wonder why they reduced the amount of forward lean possible? In your older bindings, is it hard to get two clicks with forward lean set to F4, even if the footbed is set at half a size bigger than your boots?
@jhrycun
@jhrycun 3 жыл бұрын
@@anawara glad to help. I can see that my 17/18 highback is slightly different than my 19/20 highback so it is possible that it was simply something different in the production process and was unintentional on Burton’s behalf. As people begin to get comfortable with Step On and as more experienced riders start to use them, I’m hearing a little more complaint about forward lean adjustability. The highback adjustment screw is essentially just a normal screw (Burton obviously uses one that is flat and marked with numbers but a normal screw of the same diameter will fit). I rode the chair with someone who replaced their screws with longer ones from a hardware store to get that additional highback adjustment. I did not notice any issues stepping in and engaging Level 1 and Level 2 of the heel cleat with my bindings at F4. I’m riding those bindings with 17/18 Photon boots (size 9) on a 20/21 Fish 3D. My footbed is also set to size 9.
