Reviewing the Cheapest Mechanical Watch on Ali-Express (With sub seconds) and the Chinese Tongji.

So I wanted to see what's the cheapest watch I could get on Ali-Express that was mechanical and had a sub second dial, but also that didn't look super awful.
I ended up on a bit of journey.

I have two submariner homages with the Chinese Tongji movement. They have been modified with a rotor by the manufacturer to make them automatic or self winding. They can also still be hand wound. One is branded Tevise and the other is Winner. The Tevise I have had for about 6 months and the Winner for 18 months. Both watches while very cheap still run fine although around 20-30 secs/day fast. Good review and history of the movement.

A real shame is that the tongji movements that was introduced in 1971 and the government made all as in over 30 factory's change to a version of this movement.

Look at that giant thumbprint on the 7th digit marker, this is one thing about they don't oil anything they don't clean anything and it's full of all coated with a kayer of some sort of grime, I rebuilt mine and polished everything and oiled it and now it's running too fast I got to take it back apart today and tune it to match the oils presence lol.
