I’m so confused as to how people think the moon getting shot at is a reference to snapcube specifically. The sequence is in SA2, the only way they could have made a reference to the fandub would be if Eggman actually said that he pissed on the moon. Either the people who watched the movie just forgot about the game or they imagined that line from Eggman in their head.

as not only did SONIC have to be redesigned, but presumably so did Tails for the end credits scenes and the echidna tribe at the start of the movie (not to mention the green hills environment at the start as well)

@soapshoes2009 There was no Tails, not even concept art when the very 1st trailer hit YT. I remember Jeff Fowler (or somebody else) stating, that the trailer scenes and the whole baseball scene were done. So, only Sonic needed CGI redesign, the others could be done from the ground up, only adjusting to the new style.

Tbf I get why he didn’t use the rings when he was being tracked in his cave. As seen at the start of the film we see that the rings take a while to close once opened, so even if he went through the ring they probably would’ve found him before it closed.

I don’t know about you, but the flossing didn’t bother me. I mean, it’s a 2 second dance there’s no reason to be so mad about it.😂 Also, Eggman flossing in the second movie was actually quite funny now that I watched it again, lol.

Honestly… I wished the sonic movie 1 started in green hill as a flash to the future, and sonic explains how he got there, maybe mentioning some characters but not showing them since they wouldn’t have been introduced yet, then maybe they could also show the backstory, as sonic is running, he slowly turns into baby sonic and cue the rest of the movie universe until it ends with them all in green hill, maybe his friends joining him in the run, and MAYBE they’d make atleast 1 more movie in but finally in green hill

The sonic movies are a weird anomaly tm me. I actually really loved sonic 1it had a generic plot but the dialog and comedic timing was awesome along with the sonic lore ofc. Then sonic 2 was fantastic but I started to realize if I dont like somthing in these films eventually it grows on me. Like I used to hate the floss jokes but now I think they are cute. I dont like the wedding subplot but now I can just kinda enjoy it. The knuckles series I actually really liked even though it was mostly Wade. Sonic in general doesn't have many great stories. The world's and characters and adventures are super cool but the game stories kinda suck except the sonic origins collection and sonic x shadow generations and sonic unleashed. But that why I can forgive these films and appreciate them not rushing through these films. It feels like they want to use the main 4 sonic games then add sprinkle of lore and story beats from some of the more well known 3d games. Like Sonic 1 is basically just green hill zone. Sonic 2 combines sonic 2 3 and knuckles and it works cause those games don't really have alot to go off so you can improvise storywise.
