BdC really is great to have around. I hated it way too long until one day it was exactly what I wanted. I still don’t wear it often but when I’m in the mood for a blue fragrance lately I’ll pick it before Sauvage or Y EDP unless I need the longevity. And the Parfum is great if you shower at night and want to wear something clean before bed. I recommend Y and Sauvage more b/c I think they’re what most people are looking for, I keep Bleu for myself.

Ambre nuit, is a masterpiece, just recently bought a 250ml bottle (super cool bottle). I get Goldie locks projection, and lasts 8hours. Signature scent, smells more masculine once I put it on. I put it above Tuxedo, (haven't sampled Mr.Moustache), and ambre nomad.

I once had luck in my life, when I bought Moustache EDP. I blind-bought it due to a youtube reviewer's advice, it was my first fragrance on my journey, I paid 35 bucks at Notino for 125ml in a gift set with aftershave and shower gel lol. and it is an old batch from early 2019 which smells rich and lasts 8 hrs. but I had countless bad blind buys as well. no worries.

I disagree that Missoni Wave is overrated, I even have a backup bottle of it. It's fucking fantastic. Moustache, however, is wildly overrated in my opinion. A weak performer that gets compared to Tuxedo but is missing a lot of what made Tuxedo unique. For my nose, and it's just my opinion, Missoni Wave is a 8/10 and Moustache is a 5.5/10. In fairness, out of everything in this video, an 8 is the highest score I would give.

@@SchoolOfScent when I spray on Missoni Wave, I'm not comparing it to either of those other fragrances, which are both good in their own right, but I'm a believer of Green is not a clone of Blue and Yellow. So I see it as it's own thing. When I wear Missoni Wave, I get a very grounded aquatic feel that reminds me of driving up the California coast and you pass orange trees. The citrus note in this isn't like an orange that has been cut open, but that sort of mildly salty orange scent when a breeze catches enough of that citrus oil from the outside of the plant. I don't know if you've ever been up and down the California coast line, driven inland a bit when you hit certain places like Oxnard, but this fragrance captures that feel very nicely. All of the floral and earthy elements in Missoni wave like the clary sage, lavender, and oakmoss all feel very muted in the background, and it all sorts of blends together in that certain smell you get when you drive through certain parts of that drive with your window down on hot, breezy day. It's not my favorite scent, but it's one of my absolute easiest dumb reaches and I struggle to find any fault with it. I'm most likely to wear this walking around Venice Beach or Santa Monica on a hot summer day. In fall and winter it definitely gets shelved, but when it's good, it's great.

@@SchoolOfScent for what it's worth, I just took a look around my room at just stuff that was currently on shelves, and started counting my blue fragrances and stopped when I hit 30. I'm sure there's probably a dozen more if I wanted to keep counting. Point is, I wouldn't even place Missoni Wave as my favorite of just that category, let alone as an all time favorite. I could say however though, that if I'm talking quality, dumb reach fragrances I'd almost certainly put it in my top 10, and it's something I occasionally wear without even thinking about it. I need something quick, don't want to overthinik it, and if I spy that bottle I'll wear it quickly and move on.

i absolutely use fragrantica to help make choices. I don't live in a super big city so the amount of fragrances here are basically just whatever is in ulta/sephora. I would go to a fragrance store but I really don't like the vibe in there. It's usually just you and the employee in an open room and they are just watching you the whole time because you can't sample anything without asking. its really uncomfortable for me I like to just do my own thing and mind my business. fragrantica is awesome.

The thing that put me off buying Moustache was the reviews on Fragrantica saying it's been recently reformulated and is now very weak and gone in an hour. I am assuming the Moustache you have is pre-reformulation? I think that the extreme bulk of Fragrantica scores are derived from Moustache before reformulation as well.

Classic French style is definitely what speaks to me personally. I mean amber fougere dnas, oriental dnas based on musk accord vanillin coumarin. chypre formulations concentrated on oakmoss and vetiver. This is what I really love and choose in perfumery. I really like how the classic style is modernized and turned back to the market by Tom Ford or Hermes for example. According to 'Bleu' genre of perfumery, I own a 30 bottles collection and I own several bleu formulations as well. I like this style however it is not my favorite. The light airy nature musks sometimes, ambroxan could be really nicely blended and give that light and easy to wear vibe.However, yes, nothing can rich the level of blending and that how Bleu de Chanel line was built. Such a complex very smooth blend between citruses sandalwood raw materials linalool ambers and maybe some terpenoid compound, because of that slight 'ambery incense' quality of the line. In the same time the perfume is very light airy and clean. Could be worn in any occasion possible. The level of perfumery here is phenomenal for sure. I would choose Parfum concentration for me personally because of a really high sandalwood base.
