Was using a Silverline olive puller I got on Amazon for £15. Just about managed to remove an olive from one pipe but practically destroyed the pipe in the process. Evidently not much use. Now got a different olive that needs replacing (flipping weeping leak!), this looks like it'll do a much better job. Thanks for the straight forward demo :)

Great video, as the last review said "clear and to the point". I used an olive *puller* yesterday for the first time, which did work, but there was an issue. The old fitting had been tightened really hard, and pulling the old olive off left the last inch of the pipe with a reduced diameter. I'll be buying one of these splitters now, thanks for the excellent demonstration.

They are brilliant. I own 3 sizes for 10, 15 and 22 pipe. Very handy. Especially useful for changing valves. The 22 usually works well on Imperial 3/4 inch olives as well

I have always cut the olives off with jnr hacksaw. So time consuming. So glad for your vid. I am now converted.

Iv always split the olive by cutting across it until nearly through with a junior hacksaw taking care not to score the pipe below,then using a flat blade screwdriver in the cut twist it apart. This is a much easier way so I’m going to get a set . Great demonstration

Definable worth replacing regularly. If they get blunt they cause more problems than they solve I find. They damage the copper pipe by nicking it. Also they struggle with brass olives and sometimes only squash or deform copper olives. I bought the new black handle ones to replace my red handle ones and thought they were much better.

Does the 15mm cutter work on the US standard 1/2-Inch copper pi;e compression Sleeve?

These cutters are brilliant at the job. Shame they're really heavy and the plastic on the grips smells like shite. Still worth it.

Is it always possible to use an olive cutter to remove an olive, or are there situations in which you need an olive puller?
@rayc15033 жыл бұрын
When the nut's covering the olive itself. I.e on a radiator trv or lockshield valve when the nut doesn't move back enough for you to be able to expose the olive.

Hello sir, thank you for the video. Would they work just as fine on PEX tubing? This would be handier than cutting the piece of PEX off. Ive been in situations where i just couldn afford loosing those extra centimeters. And the PEX wasn too long either.....

Do the cutters have a limit so they don’t cut into the pipe?
