Actually the front piece of these of clocks "which encases the clock hands, jewels and other moving parts" is made of glass. I have 5 different versions of this clock, each from different a year... one of which fell off the wall and the front shattered.

these are basically starter clock....there is an entire community of people who love these motion clocks. Seiko makes these for people who are not ready to buy the expensive ones. The higher priced motion clocked are usually metal (this is plastic) and have higher quality sound systems in them. This clock still sounds great after nearly a year though.

Mine works great except the little carrousel at bottom does not turn now. All else works great. Anyone know why carrousel does not turn?

May need to change the batteries; try that. If that doesn’t work, try taking the clock apart to see what’s wrong with it. Had to do that with mine when the face kept getting stuck.

WOW!!!....that is insane. Just wait for the 2019 model....I actually looked up the 2016 model (has Beatles music) and I have seen that go for over $200...which is just silly.

Honestly, the price is nice, but I'd rather spend more for a Rhythm branded clock. I've owned over 20 of these Seikos and a handful of them have broken (battery damage, face damage). They are absolute trash. Plus, this one is a rip-off of the Rhythm "Encore" model clock. It's so weird, I would've expected Seiko to be better than that.

timelessmoments this is not a ripoff, you just can't tell the difference and and I disagree this is an "absolute trash" and I would consider rhythm clocks more of a "absolute trash" as I said on another comments

I am not trying to be offensive but this is the reason Seiko is making less efforted models. They tried to make something different but not a ripoff, there is something that looks too close. In fact the only similarities I can see to the Rhythm Encore is the circle numbers. Other than that I see zero similarities.
