I absolutely LOVE mine! Bought it for Christmas two Christmas ‘ ago. Put it up in our apartment and we really love it in our new home! Just noticed tonight the music plays AFTER 8:00 PM. The light is on in our dining room and it’s 10:00 PM. Never heard the music after it gets dark. LOVE it! LOVE it! LOVE it!

Another new feature of this clock is that it will not play the music if the room is dark! No need to turn off at night or if you have houseguests staying in the room with the clock!

No, all models have this feature. Even older models have this feature, it is not new.

JUST figured that out. Never heard it play music after 8:00 PM. But the Grandkids left the light on in our dining room and it played music and it’s 10:00 PM! COOL!

This is also news for us. We were not aware of this feature and wondered why we never heard it between 11 pm and 6 am. Thank you. Now we know.

Ok I bought this clock - the only way the face of the clock moves is when I push the "try me button" what am I doing wrong? Everything else is working?

Try checking to see if the clock is turned off. If it’s off, it won’t play on the hour. Try switching to either A, B, or C instead of off. That should get it to play on the hour. Also, make sure it’s not dark in the room. The light sensor shuts off chiming at night.

Either you have a broken clock, or the room you keep it in is very dark, and the light sensor is not letting the chimes go off.

The newest model (2022). And BTW, he advised against me getting it because he said the motor is making a noise that can be heard even at full volume. I do not really care about that though, so I'll get one anyways.

I bought Seiko clock from Sam's Club 4 years ago. Only displayed the months of November December each year then packed it up. Dec2020 It didn't even last until Christmas. It chimes keeps time but music will not play. So I got only 8 working months out of it! Extremely disappointed. (I took batteries out each time before packing) Used new ones each year.

Remove the batteries for 40 minutes, install new batteries, forwart to on the hour and let the chimes play fully. Then forward a 2nd time to a new hour and let the chimes play out. Finally, set the clock to the desired time. This should fix your clock!!

I just got mine and when the music is playing I can hear the motor moving the face pieces louder than the music. I have the volume only halfway turned up. Is this normal or should I exchange it for another one?

@@kellirush8395 That's normal. It is because the gears are spinning with the motor to spin the dial. If you turn it up to full volume it should be better. If I set mine to half volume, the noise can also be heard.

Yes, it will play when you’re holding it. However, if you want the pendulum at the bottom to turn, it has to be upright on the wall. But the face turns no matter what orientation.

If you’re really up close to it or if it’s really quiet, you can hear it ticking and even hear the pendulum rotating. It’s a very quiet mechanism.

On this particular model: Mode A: Music Box Melodies Mode B: Crystal Bell Melodies Mode C: Christmas Melodies OFF: no chimes on the hour unless you hit the button, in which it plays songs from the last mode you left it on before you turned it off. Hope this helps.
