I never say good morning, as I’ve studied etymology. Morning means “mourning”. I say Good day to you! Meaning God day to you 😊

I’m always hesitant about the word “bless” but I haven’t did enough research or heard anything about it’s root meaning. Do you?

Me as well! Just like most people think they are “black” but if u study the etymology of the word u will know there is no such thing as a human being a crayon because it’s an adjective.. but the people have been tricked🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️it actually means the absence of light.. now u see the spell that has been casted on the so called blacks😢
@elainesuth67712 жыл бұрын
@@pafafiloli9018 Quite the conundrum! Lol This is copied from etymology online. Old English bletsian, bledsian, Northumbrian bloedsian "to consecrate by a religious rite, make holy, give thanks," from Proto-Germanic *blodison "hallow with blood, mark with blood," from *blotham "blood" (see blood (n.)). Originally a blood sprinkling on pagan altars. This word was chosen in Old English bibles to translate Latin benedicere and Greek eulogein, both of which have a ground sense of "to speak well of, to praise," but were used in Scripture to translate Hebrew brk "to bend (the knee), worship, praise, invoke blessings." L.R. Palmer ("The Latin Language") writes, "There is nothing surprising in the semantic development of a word denoting originally a special ritual act into the more generalized meanings to 'sacrifice,' 'worship,' 'bless,' " and he compares Latin immolare (see immolate). The meaning shifted in late Old English toward "pronounce or make happy, prosperous, or fortunate" by resemblance to unrelated bliss. Meaning "invoke or pronounce God's blessing upon" is from early 14c. No cognates in other languages.

The question then becomes what is the difference between passing judgment and making an observation?… observing is necessary in order to make a judgment call or decision (to deal or not deal with a person, place, or thing). I suppose one should not speak negatively on an observation,that would be “passing judgment”… a slippery slope
@celondelon3512 жыл бұрын
I guess the difference is the emotional intent, if you can observe and find compassion as opposed to observing to compose negative criticism then that’s the difference. However it’s worth remembering what you complain about you bring about for yourself whether it’s about yourself or others.
@felinefokus2 жыл бұрын
Yeah this is a good question. Humans judge on the outside God judges on the inside. I think our sense of feeling is stronger than seeing because we feel before we notice anyone or thing. I believe when rev. Ike redirects his intellect, that is the conscious/judgmental mind in us that goes by facts. Sight restricts you to the present. It shows what is. Vision shows you what could be. walk by faith and not by sight. Because God wants us to live beyond our eyes.
@felinefokus2 жыл бұрын
T. Wilson I have work to do on this. Because just as rev said I may not say it aloud but if an email come through or I am on social media I find my self making a judgment that more than likely I am wrong about. I'm just going to walk blind folded 😆 lol

Smile and wave. 🤣

That's a great question with some great answers here! And I agree with Celon Delon - I think intent is key when it comes to judgments.

Protection Psalm 121 I will lift up my eyes to the hills, where my help comes from. My help comes from the LORD, who made Heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip - He that watches you will not slumber nor sleep. The LORD is your keeper: the LORD is your shade at your right hand. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will keep you from all evil and harm: He will preserve your soul. The LORD will watch over your coming and going, both now and forevermore. “Nothing shall hurt you.” - Jesus, Luke 10:19

@RevIkeLegacy11 ай бұрын
So sorry about that! This is the cleaned up version - the original was VERY rough. Unfortunately, that happened to a lot of the sermons when they were recorded live on stage in 1983 with a reel-to-reel tape, then put into storage for a bit; then transferred to cassette tape in the early 90s and put back into storage for almost 30 years, and then finally digitized. Thank you for watching/listening! 😃
