Revisit of the Abandoned Kmart in Pleasantville, NJ

This Kmart location closed down in March 2017. I came here back in December 2020 and not much has changed when I came back for a 2nd time. Hope one day it turns into something else, like a different retailer.

Lots of Kmarts have still been abandoned since they closed. No wonder the original Dynasty was set in Denver.

Yeah, this was a former Woolco department store that went defunct in 1983 and this store closed the same year. Then Kmart opened up here in June 1983, definitely still has that 80's feel from the exterior design

Anyone know what this was before Kmart? It just doesn’t look like a Kmart was here as the original. It’s got a more of a Rickel or Path Mark vibe.

It was actually a Woolco, they are a subsidiary of Woolworth

They actually have a Target in Mays Landing, NJ, that's probably why a Target might not come there since they aren't far from each other

Pleasantville is just outside Atlantic City.

Yeah, it's definitely nothing like the movie lol. And yep, Pleasantville is only 12 minutes away from Atlantic City
