KMS Scharnhorst is NOT a battlecruiser, it is a fast battleship, it’s not just the guns that are different, armor is a critical difference. Graf Spee is an armored ship or Panzerschiffe, but later re-classified as heavy cruisers.

Scharnhorst can be REALLY good, but this is not a Beginner Ship. Those guns are PUNY for BBs of the Tier, you have to know where to shoot ships for AP Damage, or use HE. The Torpedoes make great defense, but unless you are confident, don't rush with em, it'll end badly. Scharnhorst will make a ton of credits for you and quickly, but it may take some time in the ship to figure it out. Overall, I think the Scharnhorst is GOOD, but it's not going to perform every time. You get into a T7 match, you might have a bad day.

@@SpartanElite43Only problem is the huge gap between t7 ships, and idk why, but Scharnhorst feels like it has less armour than Gniesenau, and using the guns wrong can catch you out, was so focused on a Veneto one time that I caught him full broadside round a corner and shot his lower belt, all shatters.. devastating, but my own fault

Never understood why everybody loved Scharnhorst until I used her. She takes a bit to learn but she is very solid. I still don't ever remember a time where I was actually scared because I was facing a Sharnhorst but I do see the appeal now.

I love the Shiny Horse but she has to be played right. A cruiser killer and battle ship helper, her speed is so helpful. Such a great looking ship also but that low bow kept her "wet" in open seas

Props to that california for understanding his situation (even if it was only because you told him) I've seen plenty of BB players who just rush into that sort of situation and just devour every torpedo. it'd good to know the capabilities of ships and the Gnevny as a russian DD has laughable torpedo range and thus can't chase targets well while renown is lightly armored her guns are 15 inch and pack a wollop catching most off guard with her shorter than average reload speed. so the right thing to do in that situation was to tactically retreat

That being said I know how hard it can be to start the conversation with your family. Took me 34 years to finally come to that point. I just didn't want to spend the rest of my life hiding. I still struggle a lot as I live in a pretty backward area and it's terrifying for me to go out in public. I wish you the best on your own journey and I hope this helps but in my albeit limited experience our brain makes us fear the worst but the reality is usually much less scary. Big hugs 🥰

Funny thing is scharnhorst was my first ever purchased premium ship when i started playing. I have the most games in it. Aside from being overzealous to get the torps off at the end you played her pretty damn well. I generally use her high rate of fire, good armor, speed and manueveability to charge at enemies forcing them to make moves that expose they're weak spots..if they choose to charge in repsomse they know ive got torps..which forces them to respect it.

The first bar of the ship's HP, usualy doesn't represent 5000 HP, because if would the ships could only have HP numbers that could be multiplied by 5000

The big thing with the Scharnhorst is at its best as a cruiser killer. If you are using it against a BB keep the distance open and snipe with it. Using it like 35 thousand ton DD will get you heading back to port.

I've got both the regular Scharnhorst and the Scharnhorst B, it's a ship I don't play often but enjoy when I do. Decent guns if a bit small, nice torpedoes reasonable secondaries and to be fair I consider her to be a BC too.

KMS Scharnhorst is a brawler, the 11 inch guns are not strong enough against heavily armored battleships, but you can use that ship against destroyers and cruisers. Use HE against angled ships and destroyers, and AP against broadside ships, even battleships.

Scharnhorst is a fast battleship, not a battle cruiser. The Deutschland class (Graf Spee in Legends) was a Panzerschiff, which you could argue was more of a battle cruiser than the Scharnhorst class, as Scharnhorst was well armoured and had good speed, with smaller battleship guns, where as the Graf Spee was fast but not as heavily armoured, but had large guns for the size of the ship.

What’s your build just the full secondary? I’ve always used Otto with Hipper and back forth with Madden, Direvel, Cunn. She’s my third most used ship but also my only ship with under 50% win rate, at 49%. I also usually struggle to even get near 100k damage most games with her, yet I still usually have fun and get a few kills at a time. I’m a US BB main lol
