Everytime I get back on the ANR bandwagon I find myself rewatching all your videos. In fact, we now play ad hoc netrunner days with the only restrictions being one core (of any type), one deluxe box and one datapack. We call it Covenant format. Has allowed a bunch of casual players to get some balanced games in without having to keep up to date with all the MWL and rotations etc. Very keen to see more of these netrunner streams.

Your tutorials got me into netrunner way back when, and now I own a full set and hope to play some tournaments after this lockdown :) The most-wanted list (restricted and removed cards) is also available from NISEI. Very happy. Was hoping you’d return to Netrunner. 1. The Lack of sleeves hurts me. 2. Were you planning on doing some ‘Nissei’ Netrunner coverage anyway before coronvirus started? 3. I actually find Nissei cards very complex; I like them but don’t think they’re the best for introducing players to the game. 4. What games have you most enjoyed playing so far during lockdown, and are there any you are really looking forward to? 5. You could try a game of Star Wars Armada!!!! 6. Or maybe play a mini DnD Campaign! 7. Those Team Covenant playmats are the best.

Play more Netrunner! I really appreciate you guys looking into Nisei--any chance you could do Terminal Directive? From what I've read it's very flawed but offers a story arc which could be good viewing longform
@yipyipyipi4 жыл бұрын
The biggest flaw was the story arc. One side tends to "get away" from the other, meaning only one person really gets a story. There is a catchup mechanic, but the boost is so tiny it feels quite too little too late. Also the story is entirely too predictable.

@solodragun4 жыл бұрын
You know, funny thing is, I grew up playing RPG's, and though CP2020 became my favorite back in my HS days, I felt like the Android universe was a better fit for Netrunner. I love theme and flavor. That said, it still wouldn't have to necessarily be set in Android to be good, but a GOOD cyberpunk setting helps tremendously. The Android setting really is just an updated, cleaner Neuromancer/Blade Runner mash up, with an anime vibe though right? So, all that said, I think there is still room for improvement in the presentation and art dept. Glad the game is still going, but honestly, I'm not digging some of the art and design from NISEI as much. It would be nice to see a lean back toward a bit darker, grittier, and more visceral. Maybe it's just me, but I don't feel like they are able to capture that same Android universe the way FFG did. Something in between Android and CP2020 maybe with more "realistic" pop would be a better approach now?

I'd be excited to watch you guys play Star Wars Rebellion on stream, but its hard to get the rules right and also not look smug at the same time for sure.
@phillosmaster3934 жыл бұрын
I just want to chime in because it sounded like during the stream there was an overwhelming response saying the theme wasn’t important in netrunner’s success and people would play it regardless of theme. I disagree. My enjoyment was very contingent on the theme being great, the art being excellent and the presentation being well executed. I found the original netrunner to be a great game but i was not as rabid about it because i enjoyed the art way less and while the theme was cyberpunk it wasn’t as engaging as the android universe crafted by FFG. For me to recapture that magic it NEEDS to have both a great system and an engaging theme. Hopefully if someone redoes Netrunner they marry it to as successful a setting.
@phillosmaster3934 жыл бұрын
For example I really like the idea of keyforge as a system but i find the theme boring so i never got into it. In contrast i find L5R’s system problematic but I still struggle through it because it has an incredibly engaging story and the theme marries well to the mechanics. I know not everyone will agree with me but i don’t think i’m alone.
