NEW DELHI: Two decades ago, a dastardly terrorist attack on India’s parliament by Pakistan-based terrorists led to a massive mobilization of troops on India’s western front. The threat of a war between two-nuclear armed countries alarmed world powers. Eventually, no war took place but the exercise-Operation Parakram-offered several lessons that India took note of and subsequently rejigged its military doctrine.
