Because they are badly made... Instead of calmly burying copied items in various places for two or three months and then announcing to everyone that there had been regular sessions of copying the best items on the server for the past two months which would have to result in a two-month rollback, which no community would agree to, youtubers copy items, make drama and the admin quickly patches the bug, fires up the backup from a few hours ago and the problem is solved. The community shouts that they lost a few hours of game play, the youtuber has a video and the server as you can see continues to work.

As a OG player of Purple Prison I have some information 1. The server is dying the number of people is going down. There is a lot of people but they are all afk with the /afk 2. They finally removed the thing that was saying huge sell -90% on everything. 3. To talk about the p2w aspect. There is 2 type of player. 1. The player that his just axe pvping by buying thing on the store wont help when you axe pvp if your not good at axe pvp it wont make you better. The other type of player is the player that is just getting stacked in item and money but some of these players they are buying in the store to get more money. Like the player called luvrainex that bought 400 create for $2400. 4. Some of the mod are corrupt sometimes in the ffa /ffa the mod are helping some player. 5. The mod are banning the wrong player. When someone is cheating and we can clearly see it they wont ban the player. But when you are just good at pvp your getting banned. Like today they banned 2 people that was not hacking me included. Yes I got banned because they think am auto click but am just doing 9 cps and the real cheating people that are hitting us at 5 block are not getting banned. 6. The MOD are just toxic people that dont care a single piece of the player. And the mod wont be punished because they are all friend with the owner. The server is dying so it would be a good time if you want to attack it. So pls can back and dupe on it and finish it they also added a new command /gw and am sure there is a dupe glitch in that. if you need a hand let me know.

The problem with your duping is that it is a temporary solution especially since you only did it for a short time which can be solved by doing a rollback. Imagine if you duped then waited for 2 weeks or so before distributing it, or even slowly crashing the economy by selling the keys little at a time. Just providing possible reason why they failed. Also, your videos make them more popular due to exposure. Though, these exposure also raises awareness that can prevent others from falling for these scams. Yeah I think they should commit to actually damaging a server. Hide insane quantities of items in multiple stashes across the world, and then wait months or years. If some get found it will slowly erode the economy, but after enough time has passed you can get online and use any stashes that survived the long hiatus to trash the economy, then wait for a rollback of a week or however long and do it again. As long as they don’t figure out where all the stashes are you can keep messing up the economy forever, hopefully causing a reset of the survival area (or a rollback of literal years lol) both of which could actually kill a server.

I dont think theres any excuse for pay to win mechanics. They could easily go down the wynncraft route and make their loot boxes only contain cosmetic items, but that actually takes effort
@Dieaconus Жыл бұрын
You're way too forgiving to these servers, if a server needs predatory micro-transactions to stay up then it shouldn't stay up. There is no such thing as a "good balance" between pay-to-win purchases and cosmetic ones. There is a reason the kinds of monetization in these servers are considered exploitative. People genuinely get hurt by these kinds of practices, and regardless of whether or not they "need" to have those micro-transactions to stay afloat, the consequences are still felt. Personally, I lost a lot to a LOOONG term gambling habit I picked up from TF2 back like 10 years ago, and children even younger than I was fill these servers. It may seem small when you think of it as just one random minecraft server, but it's not just one minecraft server, its a trend. At best, players are given a worse experience because they are competing, not just in pvp, against people who have made purchases. At worst it creates an eco-system where players are manipulated into paying money they can't really afford by the constructed gameplay loop that all but requires them to pay to make progress. Either way it's monetized in a way that disregards the user experience, the players, it's dishonest for any server like that to pretend like it matters to them how good it is for the pockets it picks.
@OzrylАй бұрын
There is such a thing as a good balance and you seem to have a childish mindset if you don't understand that. Servers are expensive. Where else is that money supposed to come from? With the new EULA change, they made it obvious that you’re aren’t allowed to sell in game content or out of game content to give a advantage or anything that isn’t available to a regular player. It means that none pay to win and pay to win purchases aren’t allowed if they give anything that is remotely exclusive, although Microsoft probably won’t do anything because they know that java server and content creators create way exposure for them on social media. So I don’t see why they would take legal action on your server to shut it down when you’re doing more for them than for yourself. Great video and genuinely like the information you provide. ❤

If I were to run a server with a P2W or buyable aesthetics system, I'd put a plethora of signs and notices that only players 18 years or above can gamble or buy these systems, with obligatory links to Be Gamble Aware, rules where you may be banned if you're discovered to be underage, and an age verification system for the website if possible. One of the ideas that I had was maybe find a way to tie the Identity mod in with a crate you earn, and that could be a way to earn new forms as you find keys in the world. There's a mod that can refresh loot in chests, and I might see if there's a way to randomly hide chests throughout the world (Refreshing) so that there's always more to do... though I need a coder for that and that's hard to find. xD (Also considering Origins as well with lots of different origins to play as) I don't want it to even really be a public server, just a small server for a bunch of buddies with a few fun functions.

Why wouldn't it be possible? I do not understand what you're asking lmao

i was a melon smp player and i want to say a couple of things about the server: 1. the old management was the one who ruined the server put in its p2w state 2. the old owner did a complete reset to the server and killed half of its player count than the old owner sold the server 3. the server is shutting down (sadly)

That 3. is a good thing. It's gonna save some parents credit cards.

Upload another video on how much servers earn, but also try to give an estimate on how much they must invest, and how many costs they have to keep it running please.
@TheMisterEpic Жыл бұрын
That's kind of impossible, the only way I could find that out is by asking the server owners, who won't tell me
@Krullfath Жыл бұрын
@@TheMisterEpic It's true that obtaining precise figures on server earnings and costs can be challenging, especially without the cooperation of server owners lol. I didn't really think this through before commenting, but I wouldn't mind a part 2 of you having a look at how much certain Minecraft servers earned monthly. I am sure many people would be interested in even more server data similar to this. It doesn't necessarily have to be about how much they earn, etc. It could also be about player involvement, server tips, how to advertise (not in an extreme way, such as purple prison ofcourse lmao), server performance, and more... I don't mind you uploading whatever you want though

Purple Prison has a channel that shows up first when you look up things like “lava rising server ip” the videos are titled “lava rising minecraft server ip” and the ip is literally just purple prison.

the amount of money spent on the server shop includes vouchers that players can win by being topvoter for example, you have to take that into account

There's a reason these servers and companies are so pay to win nowadays, the majority of players don't care.
@TheMisterEpic Жыл бұрын
The actual reason is because most servers need to be pay to win to stay afloat, most do not need real money gambling though

I think the problem is that these dupes aimed to cause destruction within around a week or two at best and were done by outsiders who had zero trust within the community. Sure, you destroy the in-game economy until the admins do a rollback, but you haven't damaged the community's trust in any way which is what actually keeps the server alive; in fact, you only strengthened it because those who survived can say the successfully repelled the 'invaders'. A better way to damage P2W servers with a dupe is to slowly build trust within the community and then get big names in on the dupe while keeping it on the down low. Then, when you have enough of the big names participating in your duping scheme, leak the names of those in on the dupe and get them all banned from the server or cause a huge drama storm. It would take possibly years to do, but the damage to the server's community would be irreparable.

tbh... you have to do it right. a player can do ALOT of dmg if you play the long game.. like keep duped items and hidden stuff in MONTHS of backs ups where it would cost them a unknown amount rolling back months

I can't think of a way to say this without it sounding like I'm being critical. Know that I am a fan of this channel and love the content it provides. That being said, now I'll get to the point. It being that whatever TheMisterEpic, or SalC1, or Trooper, or anyone else who isn't at least a semi regular player on a server, thinks about a server and it's methods/monetization/administration doesn't matter. It's what the actual player base of the server thinks that matters. If you don't like something a server does or doesn't do don't play it. Especially don't disrupt the actual players ability to enjoy it. Crusading isn't righteous. It's rude and arrogant tbh. There's plenty of servers out there of all kinds. Microsoft is doing a good enough job of ruining people's fun and forcing their agendas on players and player run servers. Duping and lagging and economic vandalism is as bad or worse than the greediest monetization structures. Its all just to disrupt the fun and enjoyment of the active player majority to placate the small minority of unsatisfied passers-by.
