Although the reintroduction of Maul has several controversial points, I must say that his recovery was excellent, especially with how they transformed him from a silent assassin to an almost tragic villain, a sort of "cassandra" of the dark side. I never got into the EU, but from the stuff I’ve seen, the clones were just generic soldiers who followed the rules to the letter. Only a few choosing to disobey Order 66. The Clone Wars actually humanized the clones and showed them as individuals who just happened to share the same face.

19:39 I couldn’t agree more. The biggest tragedy for that is Luke Skywalker his relationship with Mara Jade in the old EU (Legends) comics really helped give Luke that extra bit of character development. 1. I NEVER thought of the point of exploring the fallout of Krell’s betrayal until you pointed it out, and by god would that have made for a hell of an episode or arc. 2. One thing I don’t think gets mentioned enough about this season is how we really start seeing characters cross paths with each other that we may not have thought would actually happen. Dooku and Cad Bane, Pre Vizsla and Lux, Padme and Grievous (hell we even get as close at we’d ever get to Grievous and Anakin being in the same frame during the prisoner exchange). Not really anything groundbreaking but I do thought those were some cool touches. 3. One of the most underrated sad quotes in Star Wars is when that princess tells Ventress she doesn’t understand what it’s like to lose everything (or something along those lines) and she just quietly goes “I wish I didn’t, but I do.” 4. The only complaint I had with Mauls return in the end is that, despite this still being a kids show, Kenobi still tried cracking jokes with him “love the new legs, they make you look taller.” I’ve said this many times before, but a big missed opportunity in my opinion: imagine how differently that finale would’ve been if it was Spider Maul that Kenobi went up against. Just a pure unhinged beast full of hatred

I still love the last three seasons even though they got released when disney owned lucasfilm. George planned for eight seasons with 22 episodes per season. his full plan only became true for the first four seasons.

I think the reason why palpatine in the bounty hunter arc didn't call off the festival is that he actually planned it with dooku in order to test anakin. something that i think a lot of people dont realize is that the reason we have both the comically evil separatists and the peaceful sep senate is that the sep senate had no idea about the atrocities of dooku and the separatist council (the one with gunray and wat tambor). The sep senate dont get a lot of time to shine in the series because they simply do not matter. They are the group of people that dooku and palpatine trick into funding their armies with the false promise of independence, when in reality they are just a false strawman government for the republic to beat so that the empire and fall of the jedi can come. Im glad you mentioned that padme should have mentioned dookus atrocites in that arc, because it is something of a plothole that palpatine and dooku were able to get away with their plans with no one realizing it. In a way, its almost genius. The galaxy was so caught up in the this war for independence, when the real war was jedi vs sith the whole time. And the jedi couldnt do what was necessary to end it because of politics and the senate believing the lie of the war's cause.

It doesn't hurt the arc, but I really dislike Krell simping for Dooku at the end, for two reasons. One, the idea of Krell just having an absolute distaste for clones to the point of taking horrific actions to "get rid of them" is fascinating and maybe even realistic from a historical standpoint. Two, while the Separatists certainly aren't absent from the arc, their presence is definitely limited. It actually reinforces the point of.. well, the pointlessness of this fight. So to make the most interesting actions of the arc directly related to Dooku like that is just kinda lame imo

In previous seasons you had a Seven Samurai/Magnificent Seven arc. And so many more iconic homages to cinema that Lucas and Filoni are riffing off of.

I also agree that Disney fumbles the ball when it comes to romance. I find it very difficult Disney failed to introduce romantic relationships for characters when they are most known for fairy tale romances. Star Wars doesn't have a lot of relationships that actually end happy or are healthy. Which says a lot about the franchise. Now I'll honestly admit that I'm not *too* much of a Clone Wars guy. I purposedly didn't watch it when I was younger because I thought it was unecessary and at that point 3D animation freaked me out. Ironic now because I'm a 3D animator. Then I watched it during university and I'll acknowledge its a good show and what Star Wars needed at the time. Especially the prequel era. However one of the things I can't get behind are how the villains are handled. You explain it best but they are really wasted in this show. The most unforgivable is how Count Dooku is written. I know he didn't have much in the movies but he had more dimension in the 20 minutes he had on film than he ever had in this series. He could've been the necessary evil to contrast the greedy and cowardly Seperatists. Then as the war goes on, he loosens up his morals and that leads him to be alone. With no one to mourne him when Sidious betrays him. Anyway on a more positive note, I agree that this show does get better every season. The production crew deserves all the praise for all their hardwork.

Just curious, how do you enjoy being a 3D animator? Mostly good experiences? Sounds like a cool job but I've heard horror stories
@rixarts14Ай бұрын
@@thegoldman25 I enjoy it a great deal. Last year I was working professionally but my contract ended just around the writer strikes. Its been a literal horror story trying to get work for juniors. Some of us have the desired experience but no one wants to take a chance. Even for experienced animators. Despite all this, when I was working, I greatly enjoyed my time. Now I'm mostly working on an independent project.

@@thegoldman25 for some reason the obi wan bounty arc was my favorite and maybe still is and that alone makes me like this season so much

@@thegoldman25i just finished watching the end of the video and i always had the same question about the obi wan bounty hunter arc. What was dooku’s intention of kidnapping palpatine, surely palpatine couldn’t have planed for the jedi order to disguise obi wan and keep at a secret from Anakin to shake his faith?

Why is Slavery commically evil but not kidnapping the Chancellor? Also Slavery doesn't happen for no reason. "The Zygerians invade the Togruta for no reason." What a naive take. Also Yoda literally explains why Dooku would back a slave empire. And then Andor and the Sequel trilogy show exactly why slavry was crucial for Palpatine's plans. It's an ecominc gold mine. America is the richest country in the word because of slavery :(
