Revisiting The Incredible Hulk (1996) - Is it as good as people remember?

I know people like seeing Hulk in teams, but my favorite stories feature him being on his own, or working alongside his enemies to deal with even bigger threats. Both in this show and in the comics, you really get the feeling of how lonely and desperate Bruce Banner is to be rid of his curse, and how tormented Hulk feels for not belonging in a world that fears him. Yet they both choose to help other people in the end. While I did enjoy the superhero crossovers in this show, I had much more appreciation for the use of villains, specifically those from Hulk's own rogues gallery in the comics. We got Abomination, Leader, Gargoyle, Zzzax, Wendigo, Sasquatch, and of course General Ross and Colonel Talbot. Even Doc Samson got a brief scrap with Hulk. Season 2 is definitely weaker than season 1, but I still love it. Grey Hulk is definitely the best part of the season, and appearances by the Absorbing Man and Dark Hulk (which actually was a thing in the comics, for like two issues) was great. I also really love the opening credits of season 1. It really got you in the mood for what the story was going to be. Overall, I love this show. Spider-Man The Animated Series still reigns supreme for me, but Hulk's animated series comes at a second place.

I Used to watch This Show as a Kid I was 9 at the Time when this Show Came on and it was Great TV, I Miss This Show that Had the Hulk Running from General Ross and Bruce Banner Taking or Trying to Take Extra Care not to get Angry and always on the Move to Avoid General Ross Rather Then Nowadays Having the Hulk always with the Avengers.

Like all 90s animated SuperheroShows, this the best Incarnation for the Hulk. Season 1 is the best. But it should show more own Hulk-Villains. And Season 2 is for me half good and half bad, but it has potenial. For me is the last Episode in my Order The lost Village. The good Episodes in Season 2 are: Hulk of a Different Color Down Memory Lane They Call Me Mr. Fixit Hollywood Rocks The Lost Village

The only Hulk cartoon from the 90s I liked is the Second Season feature Hulk and his cousin jennifer the She Hulk because it's light and funny than the First Season of The Incredible Hulk. Plus my favourites episodes are "Down Memory Lane" and "Fashion Warriors" since it feature Gargoyle's obession for She Hulk.

It's funny how this and X-Men the Animated Series actually went in Reverse of the other Marvel cartoons, specifically in their last season's where the animation actually got worse instead of better and the story actually wasn't as exciting as interesting as the previous seasons. Especially How She Hulk when from built like a brick house in season 1 to being a Victoria's Secret model in the second. The only good thing about season 2 was obviously the Gray Hulk Also Neal is the perfect voice for Bruce Banner because he makes him sound natural, not to soft-spoken or tough

Better than the other Hulk cartoons. I believe they captured the Hulk of the late 60s and early 70s. I liked it up till the She Hulk horned in.

I think if the tone of the series had stayed consistent as that of Season 1, then it's possible that the show might have experienced more longevity and appeal. I have a soft-spot for this series as I think they had something with the first season. But too many execs got involved and said it needed lightening up as it was too dark. Scuse? The premise is about a man who's emotional situation transforms him from a mere man to a towering green muscular gargantuan behemoth that destroys everything in his path? what did they think this was, Barney the Dinosaur?

Agreed 💯. They had the right idea with season 1 , they should have kept that tone. Funny how it was the reverse with Iron Man. Lack of consistency! Spider-Man was consistent with its run. If only the same happened for Hulk

I liked this series and it is unfortunate that it ended so soon. That's the problem with most Marvel animated shows. They don't know how to do it all that well. It runs a season or 2 and then poof gone.
