Interesting to see this radio purchased many years ago. Looks like an old analog portable from the 80s. Coverage 5 to 18 MHz

I just picked one up for about $30 us. it's pretty sensitive on AM. shortwave is just OK. And yes. I bought it for its nostalgic look.

Your rf-562D is not made anymore The replacement is the rf-562DD. Digital signal processed, cheaper price, surface mount components, SW band starts at 6 mhz. Draws more current. A great step backwards. Your model has replaceable components, and lower current drain, easier to tune.

The Japanese are greatly skilled in the art of fucking up a good (technological) thing. It's why the place is backward-as-fuck technologically - often being described as "yesterday's idea of tomorrow". Oh, and even the official Panasonic store on Amazon advertises the original analog RF-562D but then sends you a digital RF-562DD, and the official Panasonic website uses old images of the original analog RF-562D and then sneakily describes the digital RF-562DD... This is why China is killing Japanese 'innovation'.

It is very popular in the Arab world ( none urban areas) because of its look, performance, durability, and very long battery life. It is sold for about $27 usd here.

I wonder how Panasonic makes most of its money these days. I can't believe it's from mediocrity like this.
