Hi Rich, i have placed my lighting fixtures, managed to make a circuit and add switch. But when i clicked the space where I placed my lighting fixture, the average estimated illumination is still 0. I checked the space height to make sure the lighting fixtures are within the space. What else can cause this problem. Thank you. 🙏

hello sir, If you've placed lighting fixtures in your Revit model, created a circuit, and added a switch, but the estimated illumination in the space is still 0, there are several potential issues you can check to troubleshoot the problem: 1. Verify Fixture Placement: - Double-check that the lighting fixtures are correctly placed within the space. Make sure they are not outside the space boundaries, and that they are at an appropriate height above the floor. 2. Lighting Fixture Parameters: - Ensure that the lighting fixtures have the correct photometric data and parameters set. The photometric data includes values such as initial lumens and light distribution. If these values are missing or incorrect, it can affect the illumination calculations. 3. Circuit Connection: - Confirm that the lighting fixtures are correctly connected to the circuit. In Revit, you should assign the fixtures to the circuit by editing their properties and specifying the circuit they are part of. Also, check that the switch is properly connected to the circuit. 4. Photometric Web File: - Revit uses photometric web files (IES files) to calculate the illumination. Make sure that your lighting fixtures are using the appropriate IES files. If the fixtures are using incorrect or missing IES files, the illumination calculations will not be accurate. 5. Light Loss Factors: - Review the light loss factors for the space. Light loss factors account for factors like dirt on fixtures, maintenance, and reflection from surfaces. Ensure that these factors are set up correctly in your Revit model. 6. View Settings: - Make sure that your current view settings and visualization settings are not affecting the displayed illumination values. Sometimes, the view settings might be set to display specific parameters that can result in a value of 0. 7. Ceiling and Wall Materials: - Check the materials applied to ceilings and walls within the space. The reflectivity of these materials can have a significant impact on illumination calculations. Ensure that the materials are assigned correct reflectance values. 8. Analysis Display: - In the "Visual Analysis" panel, check that the display mode is set correctly. You can choose to display illuminance levels, luminance, or other lighting-related data. Make sure you're set to display illuminance levels. 9. Room Volume and Boundaries: - Confirm that the space volume and boundaries are accurately defined. If there's an issue with how the room or space is defined, it can affect the lighting calculations. 10. Software or Graphics Issues: - Sometimes, issues can be related to graphics or software glitches. Try restarting Revit or updating your graphics drivers to ensure that you're not dealing with a software-related problem. If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may want to consult the Revit documentation, forums, or contact Autodesk support for further assistance. Revit lighting calculations can be complex, and resolving issues often involves a systematic troubleshooting approach.

Hi Sir, How to create my own electrical circuit panel schedule in company format. (how i can change default template to my own template )
@bim360
@bim360 7 ай бұрын
Hello Mat, in Revit, you can create your own electrical circuit panel schedule and customize it to match your company's format. Here's a general guide on how to do this: Open or Create a Project: Open your Revit project where you want to create the electrical circuit panel schedule, or start a new project. Go to the Electrical Panel Schedule View: Navigate to the view where you want to create or modify the electrical panel schedule. This is typically a floor plan or a dedicated panel schedule view. Access the Panel Schedule Template: Open the panel schedule view, and on the Properties palette, find the "Panel Schedule Template" parameter. Edit the Panel Schedule Template: Click the ellipsis (...) button next to the "Panel Schedule Template" parameter to open the Panel Schedule Templates dialog. Create or Modify a Template: In the Panel Schedule Templates dialog, you can choose an existing template to modify or create a new one. To create a new template, click the "New" button and provide a name for your template. Customize the Template: Within the template editor, you can customize various settings such as the headers, columns, and formatting options. Use the "Add Field" and "Remove Field" buttons to add or remove columns in your schedule. Adjust the formatting, sorting, and grouping options according to your company's standards. Save and Load the Template: After making the necessary changes, save your template. Click "OK" to close the template editor. Back in the Panel Schedule Templates dialog, select your newly created or modified template and click "OK" to apply it. Update the Schedule: If you already had a panel schedule in your view, you might need to update it to reflect the changes. Right-click on the schedule and choose "Update" or use the "Update All" button.

Hi. when i click on the panel board schedule. Nothing can be seen. i tried to change the template but still a lot of items are missing. Kindly cn you shiw us how to find the PB. Regards
@bim360
@bim360 Жыл бұрын
hi mate, if you're having trouble viewing the panel board schedule in Revit and are encountering missing items even after changing the template, there could be a few reasons for this. Let's go through a step-by-step process to help you locate and troubleshoot the issue: Check Visibility/Graphics Settings: First, ensure that the elements you want to see are not hidden using the Visibility/Graphics settings. To do this: Go to the View tab in the ribbon. Click on the "Visibility/Graphics" button. Make sure all the necessary categories are checked and their subcategories are expanded as needed. Adjust Schedule View: Sometimes, when you open a schedule view, it might not display the desired content immediately. You might need to adjust the settings of the schedule itself: Click on the "View" tab in the ribbon. Click on the "Schedules" drop-down and select "Schedule Properties." In the Schedule Properties dialog, check the "Fields" tab and ensure that the correct fields are selected for display. In the "Sorting/Grouping" tab, make sure your sorting and grouping options are set correctly. Check Filter and Sorting: If you have filters or sorting applied to your schedule, they could be hiding or rearranging items. Try resetting filters and sorting to see if that brings back the missing items. In the Schedule Properties dialog, under the "Filter/Sort" tab, make sure there are no active filters that could be hiding elements. Verify Parameters and Data: Ensure that the elements you expect to see in the schedule actually have the necessary parameters and data filled out. If the data is missing or not correctly entered, it might result in the items not appearing in the schedule. Open the Family Editor for the panel board family and verify that the necessary parameters are properly set. Check Visibility in 3D View: Sometimes, elements might be located in such a way that they are not visible in the 2D schedule view. Check a 3D view to see if the elements are positioned correctly. Restart Revit or Reopen File: Occasionally, Revit might encounter glitches that can be resolved by simply restarting the software or reopening the file. Review Documentation or Seek Help: If none of the above steps work, refer to the Revit documentation or consider seeking help from Revit communities or forums. Others might have encountered similar issues and could provide specific solutions. Remember that Revit's behavior can sometimes be complex and sensitive to various settings. It's a good idea to double-check each step and also experiment with different settings to isolate the problem.

Good day Mr. Rich, Thanks for your cooperation. As a matter of fact I tried what mentioned in your email. Yet no progress unfortunately. Moreover, when I click tab Analyze then click panel schedules. The answer is "No available panels to schedule oe all panels are already scheduled". So issues are still the same. Kindly advise.

Hello mate, the message "No available panels to schedule or all panels are already scheduled" in Revit's panel schedule view typically means that either there are no electrical panels in the current view to be scheduled or all the available panels have already been included in another panel schedule. Here's how you can troubleshoot and address this issue: 1. **Check the Current View**: Ensure that you are in a view that includes the electrical panels you want to schedule. For example, if you're trying to create a panel schedule for a specific floor, make sure you are in a floor plan view that displays the electrical panels on that floor. 2. **Verify Panel Family Placement**: Double-check if the electrical panel families have been correctly placed in the model. If the panels aren't placed or are placed in a different category than the one you're trying to schedule, they won't show up in the panel schedule. 3. **Verify Parameter Settings**: Make sure that the electrical panels have the necessary parameters set correctly. In particular, panels should have a Circuit Number or some form of identification to be scheduled. Check if these parameters are correctly assigned to the panels. 4. **Check Filters and View Range**: If you are using view filters or the view range settings in your floor plan, it's possible that the filters or view range are hiding the electrical panels. Make sure your view settings allow the panels to be visible. 5. **Verify Linked Files**: If you are working with linked architectural or structural models, ensure that the electrical panels from those models are visible and loaded into your current project. 6. **Duplicate Schedules**: Check if you have accidentally duplicated the panel schedules. If multiple schedules are pointing to the same set of panels, it can result in this message. Remove any duplicates and ensure you are working with a single, valid panel schedule. 7. **Check Worksets and Phases**: If your project uses worksets or phases, verify that the worksets are correctly activated and that the panels are placed in the correct phase for the current view. 8. **Restart Revit**: Sometimes, issues can be resolved by simply restarting Revit. Close and reopen the software to see if the problem persists. 9. **Recreate Panel Schedule**: If none of the above solutions work, you might consider recreating the panel schedule from scratch. It's possible that there's a glitch or corruption in the existing schedule. 10. **Revit Updates and Support**: Ensure you're using the latest version of Revit. If the issue persists, consider seeking support from Autodesk or Revit user forums where you can describe your specific problem in more detail. Remember, the behavior of Revit can sometimes be influenced by various factors, so it's a good idea to go through these steps systematically to identify and resolve the root cause of the issue.
