Welcome to my new Autodesk Revit tutorial series! In this first video, I will guide you through the essential procedures and practices involved in creating a comprehensive project layout using Autodesk Revit. Whether you're an aspiring architect or an experienced professional, this series will equip you with the necessary skills to excel in any office environment. In this initial instalment, we will cover the creation of the external and internal layout, window and door placements, roof manipulation, exterior path design, and the creation of a custom fence profile.
We will cover the following topics in this video:
1. Creating the External Layout with Specific Wall Types:
The first step in any project is establishing the external layout. Autodesk Revit provides a wide range of wall types to choose from, allowing you to precisely define the structure of your building. We will demonstrate how to leverage these wall types to create a solid foundation for your project.
2. Crafting the Internal Layout:

Hi, your video is wonderful, and as a beginner its easy to learn and follow. My 2024 version is not showing the AEC material, am not sure where its locked or its something else. It shows an icon for an error on the AEC material folder and hence when i wanted to insert the plant, i couldn't proceed. Please help on how to activate. I downloaded the UK family when i failed get doors etc.

It sounds like there was an error during installation of the software. The easiest solution is to uninstall the software and then reinstall.

Hi, can you try to delete the roof entirely and draw it again? Sometimes, this is the quickest way to resolve an issue with the roof.

What's the difference between ground level and ground floor?

Ground level is the level of the ground in which the building sits, and the ground floor is the level of the buildings floor.

Hi, the palettes may be turned off. Go to view > user interface > check the project browser and properties boxes on.
