I thought this voice sounded familiar, I hadn't heard it in a few years, but it's distinct enough to remember, it's Mr. Ken Colgan. Ken was the trainer for my former employer in Irvine (F&W). Ken is a class act, always informative and provides the best instruction... Oh, and yes Ken sounds like Matthew McConaughey. lol Great Job Ken!!

I wish you had started by explaining the concept of the project point and survey point; I've watched your video and I don't understand what their significance is. Importantly, if you have one model linked into another, do the project or survey points need to be in the same place?

Thank you for the tutorial. You have done a great job. The part that shows us how to make things visible (on elevation view) is very helpful.

Hey, we're in DD phase of a project and are needing to share our model with engineers. Up until now I really haven't used project or survey points! I have coordinates and elevation for the surveyor's benchmark and they are getting the correct coordinate system info for me, which I plan to use as our survey point. How do I go about getting the survey point correct with that info? When I move the survey point without it clipped, it shows as N/S E/W and Elevations at 0. Do I have to unclip it to manually manipulate the data to match that given to me by the surveyor/civil engineer? If I do the above, will that automatically orient true north correctly or do I need to set that up separately?

I appreciate you posting this video, although IMHO a lot of time spent on explaining visibilities, for people that are confident in this subject the video can feel a bit long for no reason.

Thanks for the video! Very informative. How do survey points and project points work when you want to link a revit model of a site. How do you set that up?
@kencolgan55108 жыл бұрын
Project points usually are set at the corner of the building. The survey point is typically set at the corner of the site or at a related benchmark. These two points give you the option to set your elevation tags, levels, etc. to use, or reference, either point set.

Its greyed out because you have a 'View Template' assigned already. You either go through the assigned view template or remove it.

+Rory H Yep. The movies are fun, but, I really enjoy teaching Revit more. That Ben guy can be a real pain in the butt to work with. On an up note, Christine is always upbeat, and well, smells nice.... Thanks for watching, Matthew M.
