Hey Team.
Part 1 of a 2 part video on this topic.
When given a Registered plan we must use the information to accurately recreate the boundary lines rather than try and trace / sketch them. Here's the basics on how to do that.
Part 2 will focus on how to actually read these lovely plans. ( • Revit Smart: How To Re... )

Thanks for the tips. In surveying all bearings are taken in a clockwise direction from true north, this is handy to know when drawing up boundaries. From 0 to 360 degrees.

Thanks for that! I'm not sure if it explains why two parallel boundaries could both have the same bearing though?

@@RevitSmart I believe that is how they have presented the information. If you follow that convention I mentioned above it shall always close. One thing to note is that when drawing up this boundary in Autocad following the convention I mentioned above, you’ll find that there is a misclose. A Misclose is a result of errors in survey measurements. Not all measurements are perfect in reality. There is an acceptable misclose in a survey traverse, it comes down to Bowditch corrections.

... excellent explanation - been learning Revit intensively over the past few months and missed this critical aspect - so many things to set up correctly in order for a project to head in the right direction! ( pardon the pun ;)) ... thank you.

how do you get the bearing to be more than 90 degrees ?

I'm not sure what you mean sorry - can you let me know when in the video i'm doing what you're trying to do and it's not working for you?

exactly my point I noticed however, that his own property menu does not have N/S and E/W columns and I guess that's why he can input bearings larger than 90degrees 0' 0'' example 277 58' 10''

To fix this though, follow the steps below: Click on: 1. Massing & Site tab 2. The Arrow pointing diagonally downwards to the right side of Model Site 3. Site Settings Menu comes up 4. Then Click on Angle Display (Bottom Left) 5. Change the Angle Display to Degrees (as against "Degree from N/S") 6. OK 7.You can now input any bearing (you'd notice your Property Lines Menu now looks like the one Revit Smart has) 8. I hope you see this when you need it.
