Why do you split the column at each floor. Does your number of columns read 1 or say 4. To get the number of members, surely you would have to assign all your rebar in all levels to just one section / floor of the column (Host). Is splitting the column at each floor for in case you revise the length of the column. I know that if you use just one column from base to top, you can extend the column without the existing rebar extending as well. In 20 years, I have only run into this issue today, as I always do one column from top to bottom. I remember the lecturer saying split the column, just can't remember why. 🤣

The major reason for me why I split columns is to avoid issues if model has to be analyzed especially in Robot structural analysis. Apart from that you can choose to split or not
