Check out the new KALK& e-bike by Cake. The “&” indicates that this thing is street legal - with license plate, taillight, headlight, turn signals and horn - and can reach an amazing top speed of 60mph. These things are so kickass that we signed up to be a dealer! Every rider who stops by the workshop to check out all the classic vintage machines are stopped at the front door by a Cake, and Alan always tells them, “You have to ride this, because this is something new, something different. And although it isn’t standard in the way it looks, with the way it’s designed and built, that’s a good thing. Very well produced video & great product overview. Since Cake set the bar, others have followed & raised it in some respects. Just had a similar experience when I picked up my CE02 the shop was abuzz with regards to the fun/grin factor of this segment/bike. Electricity of has opened up a new world to wheeled travel.

I've had my eye on these for a while. How would you compare this to a Zero FXS with the smaller battery? Is it in a category of its own due to the weight, size, and configuration?

cars will not know you are there and run you over, they do not hear you. Especially in town it is even more dangerous than a normal bike....... :-( I have experienced several dangerous situations with a Zero e-bike, scary near misses.....

Sounds like you might have a case of neophobia. I've never ridden a bike with a muffler that didn't require I be aware of my surroundings and ride defensively. In fact the only bike I've ever owned that someone hasn't pulled over on me was a 100cc 2 stroke with an unbaffled pipe.

This is why Revival Cycles is preeminent. Just as popular culture begins to grasp electronic motors and their fear of an end to classic motorsports sets in, they will be reassured when they see that virtually any collectors item can be revived with an electric powerplant swap.

Very cool, if pricey but that rear shock adjuster sitting in the open invites all sorts of road debris and water into it . Definitely could have done something better .
