Lol. I believe that. There's nothing relaxing about it especially in Michigan lol

The best head gaskets we’ve found for sealing less than perfect surfaces are made as problem solvers. 4.8/5.3 Mahle 54441 We’ve tested them up to 25# boost no issues

Not sure if you know this I’m sure you probably do but just going to say it anyway if you go to a gm dealer you can get the deleted dod plate that comes with the gaskets and bolts for like 45 dollars

Great work, Josh and sadly grunt maker is out yet the golden 5.3 looks awesome and probably a black and gold stripe combo would make this car pop out real good on cruising! With gold engine too, sounds like a theme to me! Great work and wish u d keep on pushing on till it sees the road on its own power!

Nice progress on the Skylark. 👍💯

So what I’ve learned, depending on the year of the 5.3 not too sure about the 6.0. But the number six cylinder on that side where the engine surface and head gasket service was polished with a wire wheel. The number six cylinder usually runs lean and that causes a blown head gasket.

DUDE! i had the EXACT same situation in the 6.0 I bought, after absolutely drenching the btr truck Norris cam I got I was sliding it in and the middle cam bearing fell right out. I bought summits LS cam bearing tool it's a nice piece
@garyjohnston8000 Жыл бұрын
Also what year is your 6.0 I bought the later style cam bearings at first that are bigger diameter if they're what you need I'll send em to you

I legit have an LQ4 from a 2007 Express van sitting in the garage with the same story and issue! They did a cam retainer plate and new oil pump, still had 5-7 psi at idle when warm. I started to pull the cam, same thing. So I said fuck this thing and put a trash bag over it. I plan to gap rings and do cam bearings. The rod and main bearings look brand new.

All of the autoshop teachers that are still alive just had heart attacks. A few turned over in their graves and they are all screaming that camshafts are made of glass so be super gentle with them. When you tossed the cam i heard all my shop teachers. Thanks for that memory and the laughing that followed.

If they work on their car to relax, it's less than 10 years old. The rest of us go in it to relax...then 10-15 minutes later we aren't relaxed.

@@SniderTron3000 plaster of paris or fiberglass on a roached block? I've thought about trying to make a mold off of one in that fashion, cut it in half to remove it, then glue it back together.
