Reviving and Restore a Vintage COMPAQ PRESARIO

Hi! I have a Compaq Presario 2500 and its stuck on the Compaq logo boot splash screen. Any ideas how to fix that?

Try have a look on the HDD … may be the problem….

A small correction: the GPU in this laptop, considering it's powered by VIA, is not made by SYS. It's a VIA/S3 Twister-K.

Você também tem o Windows XP SP3 instalado nele? Você deve instalar o Internet Explorer 8 e o Windows Media Player 11 nele. (in Portuguese)

@@fabiofontes Porque este laptop é um computador low end? O Windows XP SP2 é uma versão básica do Windows XP. Também tenho o Windows XP RTM e o Windows XP SP2 na máquina virtual e também o Windows Media Player 10 instalado no Windows XP SP2. Você também pode inserir Windows Fundamentals for Legacy PCs nele. (in Portuguese)

Wow what a beast 100+ram mines at least 10 sooo slow it stays in my closet by thetime it doez 1 update I'm done lol don't get charged but once every couple years it's the Compaq CQ58 notebook AMD C-60APU 4gb ram 3.60 usable windows 8.1

Well! Try boot via F8 to secure mod and then create another user

Cmon man I have the axact one as but in worse shape it works expect the screen and hdd now I open it in til I can see the cpu I accidentally sneezed did nothing about it fix the card tray and eject thing and close it back up nothing on screen turns on nothing some times it shows the compaq screen and black one time it tested like the ram ect and then before I turn it back off it complaining about pci thing and then I turn it off and then back on now.... Black screen nothing happen just a black screen. The next day it showed everutime the compaq logo but then when a white line came on the cornor of the screen it when black again it didn't attempt to boot nothing again a black screen. Now I was mad and I didn't know what was the problem so I took the whole thing apart in till nothing was in the frame now is in pieces now what do I do I need your help if anyone can help me with this your are the one so cmon help me or else the guy that gave it to me will throw it away if it doesn't work but if it does work he will give me 20 bucks and olso the problem with the screen and hdd the HDD had the original windows on but it had a registration problem and it was corrupt so I copy everything I can to another Computer and format it the guy told me to format it he says he found it at a thrift shop for 5 bucks and when I was formating the drive windows said was unable to format the drive so I use disk genuinedisk I think thats right to fix the drive and found the problem and was able to fix it but I need to register to save it and ow I am stuck here can you help me plz 🙁🙁

Hey man! Too much to absorve here! Take all apart and re assembly all with carefull! Check the rams and replace it for another one that you know its good for testing... For the windows the drive maybe dead sometimes it happen... try found another one...to test it out too... But one problem at time.. :)

Where can I find the drivers for sounds it works but there's no sound I see the speaker icon but I don't here anything can you help to fix it olso does it need gpu drivers ​@@fabiofontes

@@Teogamingmusic The best way is google it :) Check there correct full model of your laptop and have a look on google, im shure you will find it!
