Broooooo you are a Legend! I have never seen that tip about reverse pulling white ink with the cleaning solution, that brought my white ink back in full opacity. I have been struggling with the white not printing properly for two weeks, I thought it was my dampers. Thank you so much sir 🙏

Hey man love the videos and have been very helpful. Although, I am having an issue when printing all black designs, there is always a very thin red line bordering the top side of the design when printed.

This was an awesome video. Actually your video was the first i'd seen about DTF as I'm literally in the process of purchasing a HeatFX (now kinda regretting to some degree but I'm under contract) so I've binged you all day lol. Quick question... kinda not related to maintenance per say but DTF all the same... Do you think it's possible to skip the white ink layer by laying down a white screen printed base on the garment (water or plastisol)? I know thats an extra step but we do a lot of travel and I would hate to have the white be a major issue for me. I know they have some hybrid DTG machines that print over a white screen base so I was wondering if this would possibly work the same way. Second question is for the adhesion powder... do you think its the same powder that we use for plastisol transfers? I see they are both poly based but not sure if its the same chemical make up. Can't seem to find a clear answer anywhere.

Just wanted to let you know what you're describing is exactly how supacolor transfers are made. They use a laser printer to print the image then hit it with a layer of white plastisol and add hot melt powder then cure it. Their so-called "hybrid" transfers. I've been making plastisol transfers for years and immediately recognized what they were up to when they hit the market. I can tell you it's a helluva chore to do that yourself without proper equipment to eliminate the labor. DTF isn't that big of a nightmare unless the maintenance isn't done. Even then its not hard to unclog a head and clean lines out.

@@elegant_edits Thanks for that info. got a 3880 that I have yet to convert to DTF because of embroidery orders. We got a 1000ml of Peizo Cleaner as recommended and 2 sets of refillables (1 set for flush was recommended)...and the 9th cartridge to be piezo cleaner.

if nothing is coming from your inlets, if there is also some resistance, when you try to pull the plunger of the syringe, you likely have a clogged channel.

Hello, I am in Haiti, I would like to know what revisions people are really doing on the Epson L1800 DTF, because they say that after 60 to 100 prints of white ink, it does not work.

quality white ink won't clog your printer, if you are doing the routine maintenance and printing frequently.

@@elegant_edits I just started this journey. lol Just asking ahead for maintenance. Right now I just have distilled water in my cart in printer and then I wet cap dampers and all. Just want to make sure that's enough. I also do the thing with the paper towel and wet it lightly and run print head over it to clean daily. And I run the cleaning cycle daily and nozzle checks.

Love your videos. L1800 owner. My white print heads are clogged and I can't get them unclogged. the other 4 are streaming fine. What do you suggest I do to get the unclogged. Referred by Big Boi.

did you try to do the reverse suction on your inlets? this is usually what happens, over time. After that, you will need to run a couple of head cleaning cycles and your whites should be good, unless there is an airflow issue or the ink is clogged in your lines.

@@164hercules depending on how long your printer has sat, I would try to let the surface of the printhead rest over the soaked paper towel for around 20-30 mins. That may free up any ink that has settled in the nozzles. Also check your dampers; there could be an air bubble in your dampers, which could restrict the amount of ink flow.

your inlets are likely clogged. I have a walkthrough on how to remove the head and clean, manually. You will need to remove the white ink from your inlets. It has a tendency to dry up, if your ink quality isn't optimal.

So why don’t they make a system where the ink will retract when not in use. I hear the maintenance is crazy

Chinese companies make a white ink circulation system that constantly rotates the white ink from the main tank, to a sub tank, to the damper and back to the main tank. There is also a stirring motor in the main tank. This keeps the ink well mixed throughout the printer. The epson f2100 and 3070 actually have this feature built into them and every time you turn those printers on they run the circulation cycle. It can be added to desktop printers but would require a lot of customization. It's a luxury feature you pay for on high end wide format equipment mostly, although some smaller and more affordable models now have it too.
