That's a 2002 Sunfire because GM discontinued the Sunfire 4 door in 2002. However, the 4 door was still sold in Canada after 02 but had different tail lights and a different front end.

don't know why this never came up before, i love these kinds of challenges... if i ever became even somewhat wealthy i'd sponsor one where i'd give each team a set amount, they have to get a car and drive it with proof somehow they drove the whole way, most likely video "vlog" the drive, but no set course and first person / team back wins a prize.

My friends and I did something very similar back in college. We flew from our home in Miami Beach to San Diego And had planned to fly back but there were so many goofy things going on with the airline at the time ( Continental) That we decided to stay an extra couple Days longer. Not being a guy who likes to gamble but out of boredomplay the game where you could win a carinto my Shock I won. The catch is that I didn't win a new car I actually won a 13-year-old 3 cylinder geometro with the 5 speed manual. Also later on that night one of my other friends 1 and a 1991 Dodge shadow convertible with a 3 speed automatic. The cars were both in pretty good working order the only problem was they were either missing or head a bad catalytic converter which would not allow it to pass inspection and get registered in California but here in Florida we don't have any type of inspections inspections so so you can just drive any car with a straight pipe. The one on the little Easter egggreen geo metro must have had it's stolenand replaced with a cheap Chinese one that seem to work fine but the computer wasn't having it. We didn't give ourselvesa strict budget like this we just decided we were going to stop off at the local Sears auto and have all the cars checked over while having their oils changed and other fluids just so we knew the cars had a chance to make the 2700 mile track mostly through a lot of desert and even mountains. We wanted to see which carcould get us there the cheapest. It was fun we had 2 guys in my car ( The metro) And 2 guys in the Dodge shadow convertible. They both did pretty well and and with the exception of a couple little things like my passenger mirror getting snapped off in a drive through car wash and my other friend's constant bragging that he had a V6And a top that would occasionally seize up in the middle of putting the top-down and sometimes closing it. My car in fifth gear with no cruise control but ice cold AC Averaged 52MPG but the gas tank was only 6 and a half gallons big so while the cardidn't use a lot of gas you constantly had to stop and refuel during that 2700 mile drive. The shadow had a slightly larger tank but on the highway maintained about 26MPG with the top-down and slightly better with the top-up but since the car had no AC the top stay down most of the time. I grew attached to that little metro and had no trouble reselling it. Literally had it on the side of federal highway about 15 minutes before the Carl's started rolling in. The only money I had put into the carwas a Sony CD player, Tinted windows, The little rear Window spoiler that came on the fancier LSI model, And a set of 12 inch yes 12 inch Sears road handlers which are actually made by Michelin for $300 Which included 4 tires, Installation, And free lifetime rotations and balancing. I thank God for the 5 speed manual because it really squeeze out all 48 horsepower the tiny 1.0 leader engine had to give. The car was light weight and I think what it lacked in horsepower it made up for in torque because it was it was possible to chirp the tires every once in a while. 0 - 60 took about 12 seconds which in today's standards would be an abomination bye I was impressed with that little run about because it's interior build quality Had no squeaks and there were no cracks anywhere. A kid I used to work with actually bought the caroff of me 4 $5000. He was the typical South florida ricerRacer who dropped in a Suzuki turbo charger and had the car repainted Matt black. He had it for quite a few years untiltrading it Fred civic. I still see tons of them zipping around town jumping puddles here in Miami which shows the type of build quality Japanese cars headback then. My friend said The guy who bought the shadowshortly after we got back to Miami complained that the head gasket blew But he admitted that he hadn't changed the oil since he bought it hadn't been changed since leaving San Diego.
