Don't expect any hot tool not to damage your hair, any hot tool will damage your hair tbh especially if you style your hair every 2 days!

The instructions on the Revlon tool specifically say to only use the low setting for thin hair. High is for thick hair. My hair is thin and the low setting is perfect for a salon quality blowout.

@@veronicapetrov184 I'd suggest you take smaller sections and make sure that your hair is 75% air dried before you use it. If your hair takes a long time to dry (mine doesn't lol) I'd suggest just air drying with a hair dryer just until it's damp, always make sure you have some kind of heat protection in your hair, and then use the tool. I hope that helps!

I’m going to jump in here as a haircare junkie. You start by dabbing hair with towel, then you add blowdry cream, brush through with wet brush to evenly spread out cream, then… Yes you have to rough dry your hair first with a normal hairdryer until you see a little frizz. Then you use this revlon brush, it’s created to be a hair styler not an actual hair dryer 😊

Thanks for the review... But I do have to ask a few questions. Did you only use the Revlon tool only on the high-heat option? I agree that its too hot. I use it 75% on the high-cool option and 25% on the low-heat option. It takes longer, but its worth it. I can't handle the high-heat option because it makes me break out in hot flashes. Lol.

I agree. I have lots of fine, long wavy hair, and I loved this tool at the beginning, but then I noticed it was too hot. My hair don’t dry quickly, so the low setting was too cold, the medium setting doesn’t have the enough air power and the high setting it’s just crazy hot. Ended up getting the Airwrap and sending the Revlon to my mum, since she has thick hair, so maybe it would work better on her.
@AnaPG

I have the Revlon and I noticed breakage and lots of split ends even using it it 90% dry hair and actually touching the hair to avoid too much heat exposure... I'm thinking on getting the airwrap too. Do you know if it is safe to use it every other day or like twice a week? I think having something next to no heat damage or not damage in general would be the only thing that can justify the price at least for me. I'm interested on your opinion as user and not as influencer. Thank you!!

I can tell you - the low setting is cool - so that won’t style your hair, the lower heat setting is not as hot as the high, but in my experience (I had very healthy thick hair) it has not only damaged it on the lower heat setting but it has also caused a lot of hair fall. 😢. I kept telling myself it wasn’t the revlon tool, but have stopped using it because what else could it be? The barrel is too hot to touch even on the lower heat setting. I don’t put it away before it’s cool because I feel it could actually start a fire. It’s that hot.

I used this four times then got rid of it. I used heat protection and dried it when hair was wet and when hair was mostly dry. The first time, the results were amazing. It looked like a pro blowout. Second time I began to notice a change in my hair and by the third and fourth time, my hair was difficult to get smooth results and I had breakage. The dryer is very loud and is used right next to the ears so hearing damage is possible. The heat is intense, wicked hot and causes damage no matter what heat protection is used.

@@VickySong2 I totally picked that up at Costco a few days ago and tested it out just this morning. It gets pretty darned hot. On the low setting, it's hotter and faster than my Dyson AirWrap. I think the size of the brush definitely helps with the quicker drying. I'm going to be banging down Dyson's door to try to get a bigger brush. That said, I'm going to keep the Revlon as I purchased it for a backup in case the Dyson goes down (I cannot afford to have two obscenely expensive tools laying about in case one breaks). I worry about damage on my fine hair, hence the Dyson, but the Revlon is still a good tool. I used to have a similar tool back in the 1990s that I loved quite a bit. When it broke, I couldn't find another one and they couldn't be found for many years. At times I consider hoarding dryer brushes, just in case they go out of fashion again.

@@stephanies5591 thank you so much for sharing your feedback about the heat of the costco one!!! I was literally on my way to pick one up today, but i was super worried about the titanium coating causing higher heat than my hair could handle. I was planning to use it as a backup to my dyson too! Actually, i just got off a call with revlon to ask if they might be releasing a one step brush that has lower heat for fine hair and they said they weren't planning on it yet, but they are working on a smaller barrel size of the original one step! I'm debating waiting for that one to use as my dyson backup since it will be a ceramic coated brush.

I used it for the first time yesterday, took me forever to get my hair semi-dry and it doesn't look like salon styled hair or even better than when I use my normal hair dryer. But may be just because I'm not patient with styling and my hair is thick.

Maybe it’s because you have thin hair , and it can’t handle so much heat , even thick haired people have issues with heat . Maybe try using it only 2 times a month ,idk .

I saw one review where the reviewer started using her regular blow dryer first just to get her hair to the point where it wasn't suuuper damp then used the revlon after to just finish it out. She used heat protectant both for the hair dryer and the revlon and found that helped lots.

It messed up my hair. It breaks it and within minutes my hair look like I didn’t dry it. It changed quality of my hair. The normal $15 hair dryer did a far better job and prevents me from using straightening iron.

After less than a year, mine is TRASHED. Yours looks brand new or hardly used. The bristles on mine are completely broken off and bent, and there's not one bristle left on either of the sides. The front and back are all bent making it impossible to use correctly. When hair gets wrapped around it, it literally scorches it. It's WAY too hot and overall a piece of crap. It also burned the hair off around my hairline. Garbage!
