In this episode of #DrinkChamps, N.O.R.E and DJ EFN hip hop legend #SpecialEd discusses his early days coming up in Brooklyn, battling other MCs for their names, and working with producer Howie Tee. He shares stories about touring overseas, releasing his debut album "Youngest in Charge" at age 15, and collaborating with Tupac. Special Ed also talks about why rappers need to own their masters, how the industry exploits artists, and his mission to stop violence in the streets by empowering youth. He would battle any rapper on Verzuz and gives flowers to other hip hop legends.Watch!

He had to set my crew straight a little bit too with rushing through studio sessions (among other things). In the middle of his rant he played “Jams”. I never thought about that. In I Got it made he opened it up by saying "I'm your idol the highest title numero uno Im not a Puerto Rican but Im speaking so that you know. And understand I got the gift of speech its a blessing so listen to the lesson I teach." Thats some high power energy in a opening line for a 15 year old. He never rocked jewelry just dropped gems.

@@miguelpatrick79That’s correct. Special Ed is mixed race Jamaican.. one parent is Afro Jamaican and the other is Asian ( India) Jamaican. Super Cat is also mixed race Jamaican ( black and Indian) they are not American Indian. They are Jamaicans! Stop the nonsense! America is not the only country with mixed race people!

I've been waiting for this one..... I think the up and coming rappers need to go back and take a listen to this man's catalog, and pay attention to his BARS, because this guy had em. He was witty, and diverse, and it shows in the person that he is today. Salute Special Ed🔥🔥🔥🔥

This is one of the best DrinkCchamps. I remember Ed and honestly he never had to rap or be lyrical to be noticed because his looks was everything. He was the finest rapper ever and to see him aged and strip down is a blessing. He is so smart and humble, he is not blinged out or commercial at all. Big ups to Drink Champs for this interview. I was taken back a little when 1st saw the preview because I haven't seen him since the nineties but Kudos Special Ed aging is truly a blessing, pay him and his good 🎉🎉❤❤💯💯💯

Special Ed was my favorite rapper in the late 80s/early 90s. I'll never forget the 'I'm The Magnificent' video! I lost my mind when I first heard it and it wasn't on the first album (Youngest In Charge) but was relieved that it was on the 2nd album (Legal). Back then, Ed was pushing out hit after hit and the unreleased songs on the albums were dope too.

I cant even describe what "I Got It Made" meant to Hip Hop. From the production, the lyrics, the flow, the performance, the mastering & the fact that its a 15 yr old kid with more confidence in his vocal then grown men that had been doing it for years. Thats a track i have never & will never get tired of
