I feel you are overselling the benefits of Revolut metal... ...saving 100 bucks in the month because of your >metal< subscription? Isn't it the case that someone would make the majority of these savings you talk about through a standard (free) Revolut account? In your first point, you talk about many benefits that you've experienced, but many of these are not related to Metal at all. I am a little confused. I think Revolut is not a bank. This means that if it goes bankrupt [and we know that this is possible in these days of fierce competition] the persons who have put money into Revolut are not protected by the European Law. In a bankruptcy event, payments made into the Revolut will be frozen. All European countries protect all bank fund holders to a limit of Euro 100,000, for each European bank account held. This is the law in Europe at present. There is something similar in the U.S.A. My question is: Are persons using Revolut protected by European Governments?

REVOLUT, THE BAD PART I used to see only the good part of Revolut, an online bank start-up, located in the UK. But there is also a bad part. Since they have no physical retail banking offices, in any country where they operate, not even in the UK, you cannot meet in person with any of their agents, if you like to open a personal or business account with them. In lieu of that, they'll ask you for a lot of personal data and copies of personal documents. Up to the fringe of acceptable privacy intrusion. For instance, if your business has X number of shareholders who hold at least 25% of shares, they ALL have to provide their personal details, including copies of their national photo ID documents, even if they are not directors of the company. That is something that brick-and-mortar banks won't ever ask for. So, you'll have to make your mind about what you want and accept: (a) a new fancy online banking account, and maybe a 'metal' debit card, or (b) keep yours and others' (e.g. shareholders') personal information and personal documents (possibly, too much/many of them), from being shared with such online banking start-ups.

That was the point of this review - to show the strengths if the product. And the card is just a small part of the whole thing - most of the features are fully workibg from the app. No need for going to bank offices, waiting for cintracts, etc - you can do banking from your phone and send money internationally for free. I actually withdraw more often from the revolut card than from my bank card, because my bank chargest me a fee when using another bank's ATM. No such thing with Revolut :)

Good try, but not technically accurate - as you will see - Revolud do suggest "Savini Gelato" and add the rest in different order. Generally Savini's gelato is perhaps the best one in Sofia - and Google had no record if it.

My initial reason for getting Revolut was that I wanted Google Pay. Revolut was the only alternative at the time, that offered free bank cards. Unfortunately, they only supported GPay on their Metal cards (MasterCard) when I ordered my Standard card (VISA). (Google Pay is supported on all Revolut cards now). Now, I use Revolut, mostly because of the great conversion rates. I went on a long holiday to Australia earlier this year, and I definitely saved a lot of money on this. How much, I don't know, but my main bank has a 1.75% mark-up on currency conversions (in addition to having a worse rate to begin with than Revolut). I also enjoy the Statistics function and the analytics. AND you can save reciepts for each transactions by uploading photos of them.

If you have the Metal service - that should be free of charge. As far as I know for regular accounts there are minor fees added. On another topic - I recently discovered that a local bank in Bulgaria - DSK - has added an extra fee of 4BGN (2EUR) when you top up from a credit card. Such a shame!

You can exchnge the money in the app and buy online at no extra cost for the exchange or if you travel, when you make a payment in another currency the machine ask you if you want to pay in your currency or in the country's currency, just like a normal card but you don't actually pay any extra commission, I have used revolut for a few years now and I travel quite a lot and I've saved a lot of money thanks to it

It’s even easier than this. If you have for example 500€, 400$ and 1 Bitcoin on your account and you buy something for 200$ it will use the 400$-200$ if you buy something for 200€ it’s the same 500-200€ But if you buy something for 500$ it will check your $ Account see that it is not enough und change € in 500$. If you buy now something for 1000$ it checks Dollart -> fail, Euro -> fail, Bitcoin -> Check and change Bitcoins in 1000$ an pay. Same if you pay in let’s say pounds if you don’t have a pound account it checks all your currencies until it find one with enough amount and change it in real time

Could you make a video update about the recent Revolut crash? They've become bigger - and having more customers inevitably leads to seeing some not too happy users. Everyone around me uses Revolut. I know about one similar case for sure - and it was a person who was unable to prove the origin of his money. Revolut will never block a customer because they want to. They do it because they get asked to do that by the governing institutions - can happen with any fintech these days; Rules there are much stricter, because it is easier for people to open accounts - and there are plenty of people that abuse the service for financial crimes, money laundry, etc. I am regularly following a few FB groups - and most of the comments I see lately are related to the change of some IDs which apparently have impacted topping up from credit cards from one particular Bank, but that's a totally different topic.

Ако ползваш обикновения акаунт - да, няма никаква такса. Колкото до зареждане - вече може да зареждаш в българска валута, така че няма такса при зареждане - все едно плащаш с кредитната си карта.

Chose to pay £12PM for revolute cuz of that revolute metal black cars. Never really used there perks except their really cheap how insurance which was £50 per the entire year and £75 excess fee. The concierge option no longer exists in 2020. Wish they'd bring it back as I've never used it

Beware thousands of accounts blocked, than most of them are closed without any reasons. Even if you provide all docs required for verification of your ressources. Than it will be very difficult to recover the funds you've got on your account... RUN RUN FOREST!!!

Is still very limited if you are dealing with international payments, accounts, etc. You can't top up with a secondary currency, and you can't have a second bank account if you want to have accounts from two different countries. You can't even have a second Revolut account in case you are travelling/living in two different countries very often.
