Do you think hypertapping will ever be officially "dead"? Why or why not? Thanks for watching, leave a like if you learned something :)

It will be, not this year but in the next few years, because people will see the few holdouts start to get serious RSI, even with moja's technique. Joseph's talked about this as well and he was only 19 this past CTWC. Even in this video you talked about moja taking "months" to perfect the hyper-quicktap with consistency, but... that's as long as it takes for a top player to learn rolling (just look at Huff), which while very precise is a less physically taxing technique than hypertapping. There won't be motivation to learn this technique over rolling. I say hypertapping is essentially dead at the top level within 5 years.

Hybrid playstyle works, very little advantage rolling in 18

I don't think so, at least for the foreseeable future. AlexT is such a god at hypertapping that it's still a viable playstyle even in killscreen. Him and others out there are definitely keeping it alive.

Really awesome video! I had a bad feeling about that chase down you showed at the end, lol. I also learned that me and Moja maxed out in the same month, now it's not even close lol.

Well that lacks even more specificity to a non-Tetris viewer

@@CheezTetris I suppose it does, but I think a good title isn't meant to tell you exactly what's in the video, it's meant to tell you about something you want to know about or see, which I think is more effective when you narrow in on a topic. (And it will leave you with more curiosity)

Thanks for this vid. I’ve watched Moja and been in chat and still didn’t really understand how he did it. This is perfect.

I love this! Just as you think these new changes on classic tetris is enough yoh would see players getting creating with their tools so i think we should see this new playstyle as a whole new start for bigger things

Great video again! Although, JD has used hyper-quicktapping since the original post featuring it

This is quite fascinating - I need to test that technique for myself. I don't even play Tetris, but I've been basically doing the hypertapping in many games ever since I figured it out while playing Mario Party as a kid. A double tap and hand switch seems fascinating - I'd guess it's not faster in an elongated scenario for mashing, but the short term boost is all one may need for some cases. Definitely need to look into it Thank you for bringing this to KZbin, even if I'm a bit late to seeing this :)

Yeah, Moja stepped away from the scene while all of the other high level hypertappers switched to rolling. Moja's technique is still the best alternative to rolling (his 2.1 million personal best is still 23rd all-time on the leaderboards), but the ceiling for rolling is simply much higher, which explains why every tapper migrated to it.

My question is can you use this at a live event where you don’t have a flat surface to play on?

There shouldn't be any line cap once a player completes a chase down, just stop playing and don't Mullen

That’s not the issue it’s that infinite play will make Tetrises pointless and the only thing that mattered would be survive longer then your opponent and live until you beat there score
