Until three days ago I had no idea who Nubya is. By now I've heard everything I could get on the internet. I've been in the jazz business for almost 60 years, and let me tell you, this woman is one of those extremely rare jewels!
@nickedmunds18294 жыл бұрын
Nubya is leading London Jazz along with Theon Cross and so many other young brilliant artists. And one of the great things is that they look like they are loving playing and loving the music! She is also a fabulous Sax player with feeling and emotion who obviously loves life 👍😊

It is so, so, so wonderful and joy inducing to see and hear music like this coming from folks like Nubya Garcia and all the other amazing U.K. musicians turning their sonic thoughts and feelings into a new movement that is absorbing, groovable, jazzy to the core, but speaking now to the future of what makes sense for new music in the world. Also Sheila Maurice-Grey on trumpet! Whoa! Such talent here! I'm so excited about the future of European jazz. Can't get enough!

This is my first experience of Nubya Garcia. She sounds wonderful. It is great to see a new generation of jazz musicians taking up the mantle and making it their own. That is the true nature of art. Creating, Sharing and growing. Don't hate.. Create.

The amount of haters I've seen so far on Nubya's videos has been disgusting. Apparently every single other player on the earth is as good as Coltrane and anything else is less worthy of listneing to....Give me a break. We have new young lions (Lionesses) make beautiful new music for us to enjoy.l The envelope of jazz has already been pushed. It doesn't need to be pushed any further. Let's sit back and enjoy the groove (which didn't exist 40 years ago.)

Some of this stuff reminds me of the electronic music I try to make but can't recreate without actual humans.

seanwinter sax I agree with you... Instead of always having something negative to say concerning another person's gift or attempt at their passion, we should encourage one another, and stop being so judgmental. And honestly speaking, she can play better than I can, but I respect that... I think she is going to be on another level if she keeps on, and does not let the haters discourage her...
@charliechaplin79596 жыл бұрын
I don't get what is so amazing about her. I see far more talent and innovation from a Kamasi Washington....who is busy writing tomorrow's jazz standards. I can't help but think her being a cute woman has a lot to do with her fame.
