The Tata Revotron engine is a family of 3-cylinder petrol engines produced by Tata Motors, currently used in the passenger vehicles.The first engine from the Revotron line was introduced in 2014. Revotron petrol 1.2T is a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged, intercooled, multi-point fuel injected unit. It produces 86 PS at 6000 rpm, and 113 Nm of torque @ 3300 rpm. The engine features multiple driving modes for better throttle response, a Smart ECU, an eight-holed fuel injector, a stiffened crankcase, and a new catalytic converter. In Tata zest and bolt this engine was introduced with 4 cylinders.

Revotron Engines
Tata Motors’ indigenously developed Revotron 1.2T engine is India’s very first 1.2L turbocharged, multipoint, fuel Injection petrol engine. It is designed to deliver maximum fuel economy while providing a zippy driving experience. A unique feature of this engine is its multi-drive mode, which is the first in its segment. The ability to switch between Eco, Sport, and City modes enables you to change the performance settings of your Tata car as per your requirement. The engine’s output is maximised in the Sport mode, making it ideal for performance driving. In the City mode, Revotron 1.2T engine increases its output till it balances performance and fuel economy. These three driving modes are supported by a cutting-edge engine management system (EMS). A stiffened crank case helps minimise engine vibration, noise, and harshness, while a smart electronic control unit enables precise control. Revotron 1.2T engine, which received critical acclaim, was globally benchmarked for advanced on-road performance. AVL Austria, which is the world's largest independent engineering company for development of powertrain systems, optimised the design of Revotron 1.2T engine. Bosch, INA, and Honeywell were our key technology partners in the development of this engine. This ultra-quiet engine is the driving force behind our Tiago and Bolt hatchbacks, as well as Tigor and Zest compact sedans, which were well-received by critics and consumers alike.
In 2014, we unveiled the Revotron (petrol variant) and Revotorq (powered by diesel) engine family for usage in our passenger vehicles.

Higher is hp lower is durability. I have safari dicor 2010 with 140 bhp but 1 lakh tak aate aate engine almost mar gaya but wahi bolero with 63 bhp can cross 5 lakh km by changing engine oil and clutch only 😂

Tata engine i must say is too bad. Driving my tiago is like sitting on small tree and somebody shake it. Open the bonnet and you will see like the engine wants to jump out

What ever you want rate Revetron Engine. But personally it's not a World Class Refined Engine. It offers high NVH levels at no extra costs. That indicates it is not truly a Refined Engine & lacks Quality, Reliability & Durability. No match to Mahindra Engine Refinements.
