For the purple channel it's important to note that the 120W does provide a benefit. It's meant to be super tight and modern, which means there's no room for power amp distortion. When you get to the red channel there's plenty of room for power amp distortion though.

Great comparison! One thing I should point out is that your 120 is the REV A model. The current 120, 100P and 100R models are REV B and are voiced like the G50. So the aggression and rawness that your feeling in the G50 is also found in the REV B 120. So no more polished top end found in any of the MK3 series amplifiers. They also now roll EL34 tubes like the G50 and not 6L6GC like we used in the REV A.

I got the EVH stealth, JP2C, and IR absolutely killer sounds so far i like the DV77 609e with the stealth and the V30 57/121 blend with the JP2C

I really like the G50, but the Rev.B Gen 100P has the same voicing, el 34s and dedicated controls for each channel.

The G50 is the only one that interests me. I briefly owned a 100P and I moved it quickly. The G120 and 100 are way over filtered and too polished imo. They lack character and don’t stand out or cut through a mix nearly as well as amps like a peavey 5150 or a Splawn Quickrod. I have the the same issue with Friedman amps.

@brandonbryson3317 I don't have experience with the g120 and 100 but I can vouch for your characterization of Friedman. Super overrated amps imo, none of the models hold a candle to my 2203 from the early 80s

Revv G50 really seems to punch above its weight class (price) compared to SO many others. Now, how to convince the wife that it's worth Quintuple the price of my current Tone-X setup for noodling around the house and playing a bunch of Dokken and Motley Crue riffs mostly with headphones🤔🤔 🤣🤣

The real winner here is Line 6. With the Helix issues like both these amps have are a thing of the past. The Helix is like a stick burner offset smoker. Lots of user control and ultimate results. The Revv products are a lot like pellet smokers. All kinds of digital issues and user compatibility problems. Never smoke with pellets. The digital flavor is gross. Stick with the LIne 6 stick burner offset. Best smoked tone you can get. NO digital user interface issues and you get REAL smoke flavor. Not a digital reproduction via the use of pellets.
