I recently got the Nolan N70-2 GT. It’s the high FOV helmet you try on at about 6 minutes. It could be too heavy for racing but the visibility is amazing. I bought it to have a face shield for cold winter days. One annoyance is the removable chin bar. Marty has a modular helmet where the chin bar swings up and that seems more convenient. Still the Nolan has been great. Easily supports headset integration. They also make a motocross variant with slightly less downward visibility.

I just went through this same journey late last year, trying to find the perfect motorcycle helmet for EUC riding. As you mentioned, our (EUC riders) needs are a little different-- We both want lots of protection, but some moto helmets are designed for super high speed crashes and sacrifice some low speed protection in favor of saving your life at 70mph impacts. We also want super lightweight, and a massive fov. We care less about wind noise and aerodynamics since we're mostly riding at slower speeds. After tons of research my choice came down to the shoei glamster vs the avg k6. I went with the glamster because I liked the retro look and wider fov, but the k6 seemed just as good. If you see either of these in the shop, try 'em out. They're both lightweight, have good vision, are very comfortable, and have more shell sizes than cheaper helmets (so you don't look like a bobblehead). They both look great too imo. Oh and they both come in white!

I got a scorpion AT960 adventure helmet and the chin flips up so you can drink water and talk when you're going slow. It was in perfect condition but Amazon said used and I got it for $168.

Few years ago when this EUC disease got me, I got a Scorpion too (don't remember the model, it is not written on it and I discarded the box long time ago) for which I paid equivalent of 350 euro in local money. I didn't know much about helmets nor motorcycles, and I was kind of scared of possible accidents, especially after wife and friends told me that I am an "old silly guy and will end up breaking my neck" 😆. I bought a lot of gear at the time, I invested more into the gear than in my wheel (brand new RS-HS, I was one of the first adopters haha). Still have the helmet, I used it a month or so, then never after. Too heavy. Immediately when I got some courage riding on that wheel, I bought a lighter helmet of a no-name brand, this type used by bicycle riders, for a fifth of the price, which I still use today, and I consider it enough for the remote places and for the snail-speed I ride. The Scorpion is now a nice display in my panoply to remind me about making good shopping decisions, and opportunity to talk about safety when friends visit - this helmet is really a plethora of features and safety tricks, multiple visors, including sun shield flap, removable chin guard, different custom air ducts, quite soft inside, good fabric and sponge which doesn't smell bad, etc, pity it is so heavy. I mean there is nothing wrong with the helmet if you are an active guy riding a Harley, but for and old fart riding a wheel... doh...

Yes I like the increased protection it offers, I have some big races coming uo, and have had major collisions before that left me with concussion

Hey Zen. Do you think it's possible, to do a video about protection gear? Even if it's just a quick 5 min. video.. I'm trying to figure out, which gear is suitable for (1) riding at higher speeds with the Lynx on asphalt on the street and what is suitable for me in the summer at higher temperatures with some lighter gear when off-roading and not having these ultra high speeds. Would love to hear your about your experiences!

I haven’t found the right gloves yet. They may not exist. I want palm sliders and wrist stability, but I also want my fingertips covered by at least a thin layer of leather. Knuckle armor would be nice like motorcycle gloves.

The red and black Scorpion helmet you touched is the exact same one I purchased but in black and white. They’re not bulky. In fact, they’re one of the least bulky helmets and that particular model is very light
