I'd rather buy four other bikes with the money,if I had the money. Ridiculous bit of kit for any road work. You could have a stripped down cheap track bike for a fraction of the cost. Coz that lump is soooo not useful on public roads. Just a posing pouch for poseures.😜

Zack easily has the best reviews. The breakdown on everybike and depth he goes to. Speaks with alot of inspiration. I've been watching his reviews since the 300 cc battles with the RC390, yamaha R3 and ZX400. And I always find myself clicking just for his quality

I'm 55 and I've already done 6000 miles in a year (and it was garaged over the winter), including a track day and a 750 mile round trip to Holland and back from the UK and didn't suffer any more than I did when I was doing the same thing fifteen years ago on my CBR600RR. It returned an average of 44 mpg with an average speed of 59 mph over the 355 mile journey. It's slow when you want it and fast when you want it. You can pootle around town with ease and then cruise at 150mph+ (on the Autobahn) and it didn't wobble at all, and I even had 20Kg of luggage tied to the back of it. I disliked it when I first picked it up when it was released in the UK, but after a year of getting used to it and understanding all the suspension settings and other electronic goodies, it's by far the best bike I've owned. I've even appreciated the Hill Start Control. I never thought I'd need that on a bike, but you'll be surprised how often it comes on and allows you to take your hands off the brake when stopped at even slight road inclinations. I love its looks, love owning it and love riding it. It makes me feel great and I often find myself swearing at it under my breath for, well, taking my breath away with its performance sometimes. I agree that its price only lends itself to the mature members of society, but there are also younger affluent members of society who buy sports cars costing tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars. I'm sure there are probably wealthy youngsters who would have no issue in purchasing such a machine as this. I re-mortgaged my house to buy mine, such was the desire to own it and downgraded to a shitty car to be able to continue owning it. I'm a biker and I want to own it. I want the best there is. I could never own a Ferrari, but I can own the Ferrari of motorcycles, if you catch my drift. £27000 for a car feels expensive to me. But almost seemed irrelevant when deciding to buy this. You only live once and I'm now nearer death than birth and I want to enjoy motorcycles as long as I physically can. However, you are correct in that I will probably lose my driving license pretty soon. Again.

I am the same age (well, 56th birthday last Saturday) and completely understand the cheap car/great bike decision. I have had an S1000R since Jan 2018 (63000km!), and the M1000R is the very likely successor and very likely very soon. Hard to match the efficient and tractable low end and the manic top end.

Are you sure? He reviewed both the GSX8R and vstrom 800 last year. I suspect it depends on what local dealers/companies have on offer for mid-term loaner bikes as well. A lot of bike reviews happen on 1-day loans, which doesn’t give enough time for the reviewer to offer more than surface level insight. Zack seems to ride these for at least a week before reviewing them, which I think is great, I really appreciate it.

Took mine for its first break in ride. Kinda crazy to hear people think this bike is uncomfortable etc. Im 5'10" and i can nearly flat foot it. The ride itself is extremly comfortable and even restricted to 8k the power is impressive. Coming from an Aprilia Shiver 750 its pretty ridiculous. The M definitely turns heads and gets a lot of thumbs up and attention when stopped. So far, no complaints at all. Glad I picked the M over the Ducati Streetfighter or Super Duke. Just my 2 cents.

Another great review Zack. When you were talking about the s1kXR it got me thinking. It would be great to see you do a whole BMW back to back test on a track. Maybe at like Adams MotorSports so you could use the dual sport section too. M1000r vs s1000rr vs XR vs R9t vs 1300gs vs k1600gt It would just be cool to see a back to back and what excels at what. Not exactly race times but all encompassing. Then do it with the ducati lineup.

I legit don't understand why people complain about the power down low, it's not a bike for daily driving, it's an M1000R with over 200hp which has most of its stuff coming from a homologated world championship superbike. Also if you have the money to buy one of these and maintain it accordingly, you're NOT keeping it stock with all its restrictions, the first thing you're doing to it is taking it to a shop to get its ecu flashed and dyno tuned. So even if it came with restrictions, you're not keeping them in place. Before anyone else comes talking about the warranty too, you can always flash it back to stock, it's not that complicated. I swear most people complaining are people who don't own them or have too much money and think the price tag means best in every way. If you want a bike with more torque down low but still insane power and same category get a Streetfigther or if you want craziness go with a SuperDuke. Don't go with the bike with a WSBK racing engine, you're asking it to be something its not, and guess what, with the torque down low map that BMW gives you, you're now sacrificing peak power for torque down low, why would you buy this bike and then do that? Just go with Ducati or Aprillia if you want a 4 cilinder with a bit more torque down low or if you don't mind it not being as sporty go with Kawasaki and get the ZH2. I swear it's like those people asking for the RSV4, the R6 and the R1 or a Fireblade SP to be comfortable, those bikes are literally known to be some of the most aggressive bikes out there in their category. I got a CBR1000RR so I know what 4 cylinders like and yeah I know Hondas have more power lower in the rev range compared to something like a ZX10 or even the M1000RR, this is why I also almost always ride between 1-4th gear because I like having most of the power readily available. Also most of these bikes have quickshifters both up and down so even if you're lacking power in less than 2 seconds you can get your bike ready to accelerate fast. Just understand what type of machine you're getting into before you're buying it. The M1000R is unlike the others because it has a racing inline 4 engine, racers using this engine don't know what 1000-5000rpm is. Something else to talk about is how V4 engines have more torque down low, they still love high revs but I've tested a Streetfigther V4 and when it was limited to 165hp it felt faster accelerating than my CBR1000 so that's quite something. if you're one of those people complaining go test ride all of the top end nakeds from each brand so you can understand.

The hill hold is great ! And is not cumbersome as shown. You just let the clutch out and take off normally and it senses the rpm increase and lets the brakes go instantly. Don’t need to think about it all. I’m also referring to manual mode not automatic. BT Moto has the tune side taken care of and there is no limiter in the rpm range. The mirrors are the only thing that I can complain about on the bike.

Daily Racer. 🇩🇪🏁 yeah it’s a car payment but lots of guys know you can’t have this much fun in any car. And if you park it at the office or the club you’re gonna be a star. You want the best you’ve gotta pay for it. But - these bikes are practical + keep their value way better than the rest. The valets would find a nice spot for this gorgeous piece too. Enjoy life - enjoy the ride! ✨

Carbon wheels on a motorcycle are insane freeing up unsprung weight on something that light already is just incredible

@@anthonysilvestri4946 no just in the weight percentage perspective it’s crazy that a bike that’s as light as a smallish motorcycle that’s actually even lighter then it sounds because the value of of unsprung weight is like 3 to 1 in pounds saved. Carbon fiber wheels on a car change track performance by whole seconds. So I imagine a motorcycle would be pretty comparable

The free map update from BMW, I am assuming that is the break in update with the RPM limit removed? I talked to my dealer and they said they have not heard of a separate update from BMW after the break in period.
@tcWildlife1
@tcWildlife1 2 күн бұрын
No, the torque optimized map comes from the factory that way, or apparently, you can ask a dealer to do it. It's not related to the break-in service. Mine came from the factory with it, and it was even listed on the sales tag hung on the bike.

Definitely love my MKR. Had a Duc V4, scorched nuts splitting in CA is brutal. Rode a Aprilia, somehow hated the seated and the Beemer, for a daily is so docile on the street and manic when you want it that it ticked all the right boxes. Mirrors are trash, but switched out to Rizoma Stealths and weighted bar ends are much more appropriate. It's a badass bike, may not sound as good for an I-4 compared to a V4, but it's such a great all-arounder.

Great video as always. I can’t imagine how nuts this bike must be to ride.. I had a 2021 S1000R and it was bonkers as a commuter and amazing to ride on track for the 2 track days I managed to do with it (riding to the track and home). Only put 4,000 miles on it before I traded it but damn do I miss it.. I think that for most people a standard s1000r would do the trick and be a bit more livable both in practicality and price.. better yet a gently used one as these seem to lose value rather quickly.. fantastic machine.. but I think a tuono may be a more exciting package for the money.. although I haven’t tried one yet.

I have a SF V4 and my brother has an S1000R. The BMW is way smoother and the electronics blow the Ducati out of the water, quickshifter smoother on the BMW. But the SF V4 is just at a level with power and handling that made the BMW a disappointment for me. Im curious to ride the M, but honestly between another Streetfighter or a Super Duke Evo R for my next bike.

@@adamalvey2491 I went and rode M1000R comp before making my decision. I bought the Streetfighter V4S. The chassis felt more stable by far. The power is better and way more usable. The brakes are better. The bikes more comfortable. The M1000r VIBRATES LIKE FUCKIN CRAZY. And V4S isn't a particularly smooth bike but I couldn't deal with the M. The only thing I liked more about the M, and I mean the only thing, is that it has cruise control. Literally e everything else I like better in the Ducati.

Since the winglets are only for aerodynamics and don't require tensile strength, making them out of carbon fibre would actually be a detriment. Carbon fibre is usually not a weight saving over plastic - replacing metal parts like the wheels nets you a big weight saving, but the plastic those winglets are made of are probably far lighter than a set of carbon ones would be. Being plastic also means they snap off easier in the event of a crash.
@AdamRW240
@AdamRW240 9 ай бұрын
They do require strength, there are aerodynamic forces acting on them. They don't require much, being that they provide very little down force, but they could be hollow and lightweight and a lot more stiff if made from carbon fiber. Yeah, plastic is good enough for such a small amount of down force. It's really silly to put plastic winglets that are mostly for looks on a 27k, 205hp bike, though
