Funny but you summed up my experience with my own BMW S1000r. Stupid fast and capable bike but could not for the life of me bond with it. Never felt like I was the one in control? So sold it and went old school XJR1300. No rider aids at all, heavy, slow (compared to the S1000r) but love it because I felt part of the bike. Go figure.

#1 Thank you guys so much for keeping the spirit of motorbikes alive! You are hands down the best channel out there for motorcycles (aside from our Lord Michael Neeves obviously). You convey the exciting nature of bikes, a great example is your review of the Suzuki 8R. Everyone else’s review was so boring I ended up watching yours twice!!! 😁 I watch your reviews and want to go out and buy them all!! Motorcycles are exciting! Despite manufacturers move towards pensioner friendly parallel twins and the move away from sports bikes there are still loads of us out here who love the POWER!!!! #2 So bravo to BMW for making a pensioner friendly/comfortable missile!! Yes it’s too fast for the road but on the once or twice a ride you can open the taps there’s nothing more exciting and uplifting. Screaming in your helmet and boring the pants off your mates afterwards regaling stories of mind warping performance. If we don’t have bikes like the BMW, Hayabusa and the Panigale v4s what are we left with!? I’m 56 yers old and I’m still not ready to give up my sports bikes, just can’t bring myself to buy an Adventure bike, regardless of how practical, comfortable they are. But with bikes like this BMW I could be swayed and make that big step towards comfort, practicality and old age. Never thought I’d say that. Please keep it up the excellent work, reminding us why we liked bikes in the first place! 😁👍🏻

I got a standard that's flashed and decat'ed and it's more than enough power for the road. I rarely get to explore the upper rev range in canyon carving scenarios. Also, most of the extra power on the M is above 12k. And you get added features like a rear rack/luggage system, center stand, and electronic preload adjustment on the standard.
@mpkback7 ай бұрын
@5 that's a good point. I was looking at the price of the TE S vs the Competition Pack M which is where I came up with the ten grand. But by the time you add the M pack to the TE it's over £21k anyway! So then it comes down to choosing the extra power or a centre stand and hard luggage.

Interesting. Years ago the Baron proclaimed the then S1000R was a giz machine, and so it was. Move forward 6 years and an extra roughly 40 hp and seems as sexy as a test tube. Has BMW lost some fun in the formula?

Baron needs to resurrect that honorable badge. 😂

Dont understand why u blur the speed gauge this is a test bike and we all can see this is over the speed limit. Bluring the beatifull HUD is also means no info about the other parameters not only speed SO STUPİD....

Nice bike but it is for sure a personal bike. You cannot load it and travel with your wife, like you can do with the multistrada v4 rs. Which also has best "look" but more expensive. Anyway this bike is phenomenal for someone that likes to solo travel.

No doubt an astonishing bike but it’s a bmw with loads of electronics, it’ll never be out of the dealer which will result in constant plastic panels being broken by hopeless BMW “technicians”

Standard rad guard! So BMW actually did listen to you during the S1000R ride a couple of years ago🙂👍

But how is the fuel economy😬. Like that is important while you are “willie waving” on a 201HP bonkers machine😙

Man i thought I would love this bike but it looks like shit. Way over the top designed to shit,like they gave it to a 14 year old bmw fan. I would rather take the v4 pikes peak over it,with a tune and full exhaust on it,what more do you need.

27,000 who 💵 the old ppl with money will buy it I’ll stick to the old none electronic girls… thanks for the same same 👍

I swung by my local bm dealership yesterday where there were 4 of these bikes on the floor all with sold panels hanging off them so somebody’s buying them , I agree we don’t need them but progress is only made by pushing the boundaries

Eh, if I want fast and fun, I’ll ride a supermoto. Beautiful bike though. Great color scheme. Fun to look at.

As a very long time BMW rider. My favorite BMW of all time is my HP2 Sport. I have owned S1000RRs and now the M1000RR. Tested Ducs and KTms but they feel aggressive when nothing is really happening. A short "easy" stint and I was fatigued like I spent all day at the track. The BMWs are easy and smooth and then when you want to go bananas, they are bananas! To each thier own but I prefer a bike that always has more to offer.

The problem is probably the same as o. The s1000xr. There is a very real disconnect from the front end of the bike. Its very hard to trust the bike because it is doing things it should not be able to do in the position your in

All bikes on stilts are like that, they should be limited to 125hp IMO. Dangerous bikes that high hanging to other lanes in the corners even when they are 1m from the centre line.
