B Kurd Info | Overview of Rav Vast scale | Examples and Comparisons with Celtic!

I really appreciate you showing different uses and contexts for this gorgeous instrument. I have no musical experience and am considering one of these. Just trying to pick a scale which is a little intimidating for me. I would be using it mostly for meditative play but I want to learn the techniques to play it more percussively. At first I was actually just looking at different hand drums with really no melodic aspect but man.. these and hand pans have me in a trance

Your explanations and examples of the various options with Rav scales is invaluable to me as a musician and songwriter. I'm looking at buying my first Rav drums and am strongly leaning towards the F Astronaut and either the C blues, due to it being harmonically related to the F Astronaut, or this B Kurd. I love the extra notes on these and the chordal options with the B Kurd are quite enticing. My main instrument is piano and synthesizers, but I also play guitar, bass, drums, trumpet and have fallen in love with the Rav.

Excellent comparisons! I have a B Celtic minor and am trying to decide which scale to get next. I'm also trying to decide to get another RAV or a handpan. Do you have any insights on that? I got a RAV first because I wanted a more meditative vibe. I love my RAV but am ready for another scale or a handpan.

@@MOAON_AABE depending on the scale, to help with cross talk! The same way handpan notes aren as well. It helps keeps the isolated from eachother.
