A fully waterproof winch system and controller, and I'd find it hard to resist getting one of these! Looks great!
@WakeThief3 жыл бұрын
Without a doubt. Neither the controller or the winch can be submerged.

Wow! That sounds amazing! My mind is already calculating where I could put one of these. Time to check out their website.

Ha! I think this will be a great way to get people up the learning curve. Please keep me posted.

Great Video! I‘m thinking of buying one of these… I also wanted to ask if you could do a video on how to maintain your foil in a good condition (wing edges, screws,…) because I had problems with my Slingshot Infinity 84 and I guess there are more people with similar issues.
@WakeThief3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Heinz. Will do. I’ve never used a foil in salt water. Guessing that helps. The rest is as easy as never letting the foil touch anything, but pretty easy for me as I don’t transport it or walk in on a beach. I hope you’re well. Thanks for the comment.

Awesome looking product and great video. I haven’t stop thinking about and looking at there product and a few others. They even do a 800m rope and I live by the ocean but not great breaking waves. I am thinking this is going to make my back yard my foil playground and it it’s going to be a great learning tool to get friends into foiling. I am this is going be something you could tow-in onto good swell and use like a jet-ski to some extent but it’s much cheaper. Thanks for the review.

Thanks you for the comment, David. If I was aware of this product (or it existed) 3 years ago when I started foiling, I would've likely purchased it because it would've allowed for solo foiling (assuming the rider remote works well).
@Davidfoiler3 жыл бұрын
@@WakeThief it definitely opens up things and the remote rider control looks great. I just found this other similar product that is about to be released…still early days. They say it will be focused on foiling more. It’s great to see these new products coming out that will make the sport more accessible. kzbin.info/www/bejne/e3-xe4tnhdyahc0

I've been into wakeboarding winches for years making my own monkey bike winch where the rear wheel has a spool on the side . Also made a 12v electric version but is massively heavy. Looked at this one when it came out but ouch the price 🙈.

Yes, the price is high ... But it sure is slick!

Neat rig and nice review. One of those with remote control would be a great device.

I forgot to ask how did you find overall build, noise and longevity it should give.
@WakeThief3 жыл бұрын
So far it has been good, but I've only used it a handful of times so hard to say for sure. It feels well build and solid / reliable.

Could you use this for snowboarding? Like if I were to hook this up in my back yard and have it pull me when we get snow and set up a terrain park?
@WakeThief2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! This was designed for wakeboarding, wake skating and snowboarding in mind

Sweet Jesus that looks amazing. I have a boat but don't practice pumping enough. Omg I am buying one of these right away.(edit) At that price? Maybe not right away.
@WakeThief3 жыл бұрын
Hi Hugh! Great to hear from you. They're about $3000. A boat needs a driver. The rewinch with the rider remote won't . I was talking to Filipe (the owner) over the weekend and he's busily working on a launch of the improved rider remote. I will try one soon and share my experience. I anticipate it will work very well and allow for solo foiling!
@hughdunbar98233 жыл бұрын
@@WakeThief I saw that. 3k doesn't seem that bad considering what everything else costs! I think that would be a great tool to practice my pumping.

Also something very important: it cost 3000 dollars 😂... I'll continue to try dockstarting 😆
@WakeThief2 жыл бұрын
Yes! Dock starting is a cheaper option and with the right foil and passion to push through your learning, it can be done!
@huzcer Жыл бұрын
there is no special tech in this. no reason why it can't be made for 1/6 th that. a 300 $ electric scooter has all the significant parts required -> battery and motor, belt etc...
@eaglechiro3 жыл бұрын
$3000 I can rent a lot of boat time for that much money. Once I learn i would not need it anymore
@WakeThief3 жыл бұрын
It’s a great point. I would use it to test foils for repeatability, but once you learn to dock start, this becomes a training tool to teach new foilers. If I knew about it a year ago I would’ve definitely purchased. Before I could dock start would’ve been awesome to just foil when I want without needing to plan when / where / how. Thanks for the comment, David.

Put the remote control in a condom. Tie off the open end. Not even kidding here. A rubber glove could work too. Efoil rider's have been using this technique to fix leaky controllers for years now.
@WakeThief3 жыл бұрын
That's a really good idea. Thanks for it! I will give it a go.

just get a kite and dont waste $2k....we get TONS of wind that lines up with the fingerlakes......
@WakeThief3 жыл бұрын
That would be awesome but our lake and many others don’t always have great wind. If I did I’d be a winger for sure!
